Cintiq alternative?

Does look like a lovely bit of kit and it seems to work out cheaper than a cintiq (which is just a monitor/tablet). Have to keep an eye on this!
Everything I know about life, I learnt from old school hip-hop. Don't sweat the technique!

No mention of whether the stylus is pressure sensitive, which would make it a non-starter if it isn't... Not all Wacoms are -- they sell far more pen+TFT set-ups for education and business presentation purposes than they do for artists, and those bits of kit don't appear to register pen pressure at all, never mind rotation and tilt...

I didn't realise that, I always equated Wacoms with pressure sensitive tablets.

Yeah, it wouldn't have much advantage for artists over and ipad or similar if it wasn't pressure sensitive.

I guess Wacom are unlikely to undercut their own product in that department...

Yeah, I was studying accountancy until quite recently (don't ask) and every lecture room had 15" Wacom TFT hooked up to a projector, and there was no pressure sensitivity at all, even though the pens looked identical to mine at home. Presumably, it's disabled in software...

Not sure exactly how it works, to be honest - whether it's partially a function of the tablet as well, or just software, or a combination.

I've seen some mention of pressure sensitivity on the Asus, but it's pretty vaguely worded, nothing concrete.

Cheers,

Plus, of course, it's running Windows. Which, for me, would mean buying new versions of all my software. Suddenly, that 21" Cintiq doesn't look so expensive. The fact that no retailers actually have any is a bit of a problem, mind!
