As tell you in RIP topic about next door got burnt when I was away this weekend,

here the aftermath of it!! Lucky only damage was the door handle by firemen!

Keef Monkey

That sucks Goaty, I'd say it's at least lucky that there wasn't more damage but coming home to that isn't exactly lucky. Hope your pad is ok!

Phew, looks like you (and your house) had a lucky escape there!

I got a call one christmas at my mum's from a friend saying that I should get back pronto and take a look at my flat - turned out there's been a small fire in the  bin locker on Xmas eve, filling the block with smoke, so the fire brigade had kicked everyone's door in to evacuate them.

The council did a crap job securing the premises, meaning that the neighbourhood scallies had a leisurely couple of days looting my flat until one of the little scumbags decided to set fire to the sofa and all 3 beds on boxing day - the flat was completely gutted, as were me and my flatmates. Lost loads of books, photos and personal stuff. Luckilly my prog collection was still in my parent's loft back then!

I saw a solicitor, but they advised I couldn't sue the fire brigade or the council.

You should at least have complained to the council.... via a MP's letter... this is disgraceful...

An aquaitance of mine suffered something similure.. she had a load of stuff ...valuble SF collectables apparently chucked into a skip and sent to landfil...  (Personnly I think the people sent to clear her flat after the fire saw what she had and stole it.... )
She is still fighting for compensation ....

DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT.
because they will keep doing it again.
Best approch ... make a pest of yourself...
make it so that they will do ANYTHING to get rid of you...

Adversity turned to triumph via Sillyworld! Great once again Goaty!

Yeah, next door burning isn't a good thing. Happened to us last year after the moida! But no lasting damage to our gaff thankfully...

To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.
