Any recommendations of places to stay in Inverness? Have to come up for work and thought I'd get some opinions from the Hi-Exers....

Taxpayer's money paying the bill so something flash and ostentatious would be great ;)

We've been down that way a couple of times but stayed in a hostel both times so that's probably not very flash and ostentatious!

We did end up drinking in Jimmy Chung's though post-gig, which seemed to be an Irish theme pub with a chinese buffet, which struck me as surreal but brilliant. Recommended.

Wherever you stay, don't room with Roger.

We stayed in teh Ramada for Hi Ex, it's very nice and has a swimming pool downstairs. Maybe we should all come with you and have a mini Hi Ex meet up :-)

Close! Jimmy Chungs is upstairs from a bar called Johnny Foxes- I suspect in your drunkesness you have merged the two into one.

And yoeah- the Ramada is nice, as is the one across the river who's name I forget but Mike stayed in a couple of years ago...

Might have been Best Western Milton Hotel, stayed there last year and it's really nice and I'd definitely recommend it.

Maybe it was the Columba? It's  pretty nice we had our Christmas meal there a couple of years ago. The Craigmonie is nice too my Dad got married there and made me miss getting Frank Quitely's autograph at Hi-Ex2.

Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I'll retrace your Hi-Ex steps and find some of those lost memories.... :-)
