any good sci fi shops in york/harrogate?

   apparently i'm taking the family to york as the valentines pressie at half term so will require some shopping outlets to slate my thirst in between disney shops and viking centres then off to harrogate on the way home. all ive seen is travelling man is that it?

In York, basically, that's it. There are quite a few second hand bookshops/charity shops which can occasionally hold the odd gem.

Don't know what it's like in Harrogate, but my girlfriend goes there sometimes, so I asked her. She said "Don't drink the tap water."

There's a great model shop (that also has lots of geeky stuff) in the main shopping centre bit of Harrogate.  My nephew works there but for teh life of me I can't remember what it's called.
