The World in Action theme tune is utterly chilling - to me it sort of signified this strange, complicated and terrifying adult world that I couldn't begin to comprehend as a nipper.

Also, the "Hard Rain" album by Bob Dylan always reminds me of playing the Judge Dredd boardgame, as I bought them both on the same day - in Bury, sometime in 1985.

Again, both often get played to this day. In fact, they may well both get played today!

Best of ELO and best of Queen. My Dad played those both to death and I loved 'em.

The War of the Worlds album terrified me beyond belief as a bairn and I still get residual chills if I listen to it as an adult.

The music's really good too.

Chanced upon this recently - I had no memory of it consciously...

Also, I hear the Jackanory theme tune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nolRt3mttWY and I'm 6-years old suddenly...

Oh, yeah - and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVVADz0Afss - Green Horse Things!
The wages of sin are death, but the hours are good and the perks are fantastic.

This kind of ties in with another thread, but the Tarzan cartoon theme still puts a smile on my face
An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

we seem to be heavy on TV themes here - this one still gives me goosepimples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xez4o1ujOPI

While digging that out, I realsied how powerfully evocative those old ITV regional idents* were, and how some become so closely linked with particular shows - for example the silver knight on horseback instantly means "From Norwich, it's the quiz of the week...."

(*if this zips through in 2 seconds, change settings to 240p and it will play at slow speed)

I have a confession......I'm so ashamed...I was the one who bought Loose Talks Dan Dare!

"Dan Dare it's all up to you!"

"Dan Dare you'll get us through!"

Arghh!  Please someone erase my memory!

T-Rex "Ride A White Swan", oh God! where have the years gone!!

It's ELO, QUEEN and MEATLOAF all the way for me. Loved and played to death by my big brothers and I started down that slippery road too.  Fortunately along came The Clash, The Smiths and a-ha to save me.

Oh and "You've got to fight for what you want, for all that you believe..."
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

So, so many. My entire youth was spent wasted drawing superheroes and watching tv.

Was the theme tune for some programme on boring Sundays which always had bad vibes due to Monday school blues. Thanks to religion it wasn't permitted to have anything remotely interesting on tv on Sundays apart from The Big Match (unless you liked That's Life or Songs of Praise). Yup, definitely bad vibes.

I just heard the theme tune to Taxi, which brought back a flood of memories... I get a really powerful sense of emotion and nostalgia from that particular piece of music that almost moves me to tears.
Know what you mean. I'm really into Brian Eno's 70 music but only recently found out the music to Arena was by him: 'Another Green World'.

Guess it brings back memories of hot summer evenings, the atmosphere in a full house with all the family and no real awareness of the fact that everyone isn't around forever.

Dammit this makes me feel old.

Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
