I got my missus a card (standard) and Zombieland on blueray.
I received a card and two huge jar's of quality street.

Sophie is just being delivered on a play date so the rest of the day is for us   Just waiting for the missus to get back.

I'm sure this is nice if it's a little tradition you and your loved one have got into but it's not for me either.

I did laugh at an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET in Kilmarnock advertising that it was taking bookings for Valentines Day.  You'd get dumped pretty quick if you took someone along to one of those, I imagine.

My wife made me some lovely heart shaped biscuits and home made chocolates, all wrapped up in a box with red ribbon. She then smuggled them into the bag I take my lunch to work in. It was a lovely surprise.

And I got her absolutely fuck all. It's all right though, my wife's Japanese and the tradition there is that girl's give some sort of chocolatey present to boys they like on Valentine's day, then, if the boy likes the girl and wishes to reciprocate, a month later on the 14th of March, they have 'White Day' when it's the lasses turn to receive a gift.

Van Dom will back me up on this. It certainly takes the pressure off. The danger is of course, that next month, I'll forget completely. Must not let that happen.

I'm not saying what I got mine, but it was all done and dusted by 10.30am and set us both up nicely for the day.

There will also be an exchange of cards around tea-time.

No gifts round these parts, and she's on call 24hrs and I'm working a backshift so there's really not much romance neither. We've agreed I'm taking her out for dinner at the weekend though apparently.
