I stopped when it went postal as well.  I think I won a couple of times (both of which I ended up giving away - one was a godawful Rob Zombie fillum)
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

That must be one I haven't seen, cos all Rob Zombie's films are arsom!

I never enter competitions, on the grounds that I have a better hit-rate not entering than when I do. This is based on winning a signed copy of James Herbert's Creed in hardback and a VHS copy of some electric chair horror film from 'Fear' magazine, back in the day, when I definately did not enter the compos. I guess they just grabbed my address from the letters pile.

Not sure if this counts, but back in the early eighties I won a set of Star Wars / Empire Strikes Back action figures! Couldn't believe it and was well chuffed! :)

I entered a comp to win a print of a Bolland wraparound cover (prog 144 I think) and won a runners up prize of a signed photo of Tharg (when he was sporting the Planet of the Apes look).

For letters printed I won a Judge Death figure, a broken Judge Anderson Heroclix figure (no surprise the way it was packaged, and I never received a prize for another printed letter.

M.I.K.

Ghost Master PC game, Phantasm DVD box set, Futurama DVD from competitions in 2000ad and Bronx Warriors Trilogy from a competition in the Megazine.

Can't remember the name.  Some mad family of psycopaths and killers (one named after a Groucho Marx character) that Zombie needlessly glorifes (actually, worships).
If I recall, it ends with them driving into a hail of bullets accompanied by Freebird on the soundtrack.
I thought it was just a thoroughly nasty bit of work; playful in all the wrong places and mean, mean, mean at heart.

Maybe I was in a bad mood when I watched it and/or maybe I completely missed the point.

That would be The Devil's Rejects- which is, officially I think you'll find, one of the Seven Wonders Of The New World.  :)

I too used to enter the competitions when they were online.
I won an X-Files VHS boxset which went straight on Ebay. I'm sure I also won a GN once but can't remember which one.
Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.

I'm also a big fan of that movie, and the man himself. Currently counting the minutes until his gig on Sunday, just a tad excited.
