Let's be honest, the Beeb's mishandling of genre TV, should have been warning enough that this wouldn't end well.

Hopefully, Auntie won't get defensive and might open a dialogue with the writers about this as we do need people writing genre TV who are actually familiar with the genre or we'll keep getting awful shows (although an awful lot of their new comedy also suggests they employ people who don't know what is funny either so...).
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Any petition that has Dave Langford's signature on it has my support.  If he still believes in genre fiction after the mountains of shite he's read (and eviscerated) over the years, it must have something going for it.
