Ahem.

The Dr WTF table has been purchased today. I have an extra pass if any contributors are up for it...

As this is now only just a week away, thought it about time to bump the thread.

It has become somewhat customary to go for a post con chinese, and I'll be happy to go along with what other folks want to do as well. I 'think' the BIG WOK we have been to before have been closed, but seeing as the con is only a stones throw from the city centre, we should be able to sort a decent alternative.

It is also the night that Dr Who is back too!

Dunk!

Up for the post, but are we going for the customary pre-drinkies too? At The Wellington I presume.
"Trust we"

The Friday night? I suppose we should- it is traditional, after all.

I've just made arrangements for parking there as I'm bringing my youngest to her first full-day comics gig. Beware the mighty Nano-Bolt!

I'm going to do my best to get there, mainly to say farewell to any forumites that show up.

My heads been elsewhere recently (I just had a panic that it was tomorrow) but I am still up for this, probably travelling down early Saturday morning and going back in the evening, I've done it for Bristol before and Brum is much closer to Liverpool.

Depending on when this happens I could be up for this.

As you never actually said goodbye to anyone at Bristol ;)
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

D'oh! I just posted about this in another thread.

REALLY wish I could go. ANy word yet as to whether it's happening again next year?

I was in Birmingham earlier this week for Auto Assembly, and partook of all-you-can-eat Chinese at the Ming Moon, which I believe is about two minutes away from the venue. Tasty, tasty stuff!

All-you-can-eat Chinese is THE DEVIL'S FOOD. I'll be there Friday and Saturday night and day with m'good lady and a stash of WTFs (NOW WITH SPINES) -

I've been told there's a pre-con party hosted by the conventioneeros but shockingly exhibitors don't get free entry. Is that shocking? I don't know but having paid a great deal of money on getting there, staying there and selling there an extra tenner is like getting a drawing pin in the nuts.

Erotic. Painful.

Owen, I've been to every Brum gig (this is the fifth one) and I have only done two of the official launch parties. All down to personal taste, but neither of them where in a venue I like.

However, the Wellington pub, in the centre of town- is a cracking night out and you'll be plenty welcome to join us there. So far I think it is just myself and Dunk! but you never know who'll be there.

I really wanted to go to this- as burmigam's not far away really, and i wanted to buy stuff and say hi/bye to locusts. However, wife is in grimsby that night, doing her thing so im at home with the boys, and sadly dont have funds for us all to go.
Anyway, have fun all, and remember to give locusts a proper british farewell- the bumps, vomitous amounts of alcohol, and then chaining to a lamp post in just a small pair of pants with 'get it here' in lipstick on his back, with an arrow pointing down.
That's what my mum and dad did for me when i left home, anyway.

I can see the slogan now: "Being a parent means leaving their pants on" (and possibly not sticking a traffic cone up your arse).

Do you have to put something witty here?

chris_askham

Just a quick query about this, to all those who go to cons on a regular basis - can I print out the e-ticket in b&w, or does it have to be colour?

strontium71

...because I hate you.
