Yep! alot of talk / rumour of Skrulls and teamed up with Loki's Ice Giants would make formidable opponents for the Avengers. Is it possible Red Skull may reappear and be part of this this movie to!?

Think it has been confirmed that Red Skull is in it.

Be interesting to see how they write Thor into the story, seeing how Thor ended, and apparently Natalie Portmans character doesn't appear in The Avengers.

The Red Skull rumour had been denied before but I'd be happy to see him pop-up as it'd be a bummer to see this story-thread dropped after seeing him
fuck-off to Asgard at the end of Cap'n 'merica
.

"Was Skull vaporised at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm?" asks Feige. "That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in future, but he's not in this one." (Joss) Whedon though is a little more circumspect when Empire confronts him. "I do have a comment on that," he says, before pulling a move worthy of Loki himself. "It's...oh, you're breaking up!"

I think it's the alien race most want to know as Loki's been the villain since the teaser at the end of Cap'n 'Merica.

Bleeding Cool has an image of one of the aliens, and it looks like it might be
Beta Ray Bill's people!  Which I never would have guessed in a million years, but actually makes a lot of sense if they want to bring Beta Ray Bill into the Thor films.
:-* Beta Ray who . . . . ? not up on the modern stories. Is this bad guy any good? ::)

It's not from a modern story - it's from a justly celebrated
Walt Simonson Thor
run in the early 80s. The character in question isn't a bad guy either, though if the identification is correct, presumably the film is going to use his species
(The Korbinites)
in this capacity. Certainly looks like 'em to me.

The junior novelisation is out in shops, but try as i might, i could find no mention of the alien species anywhere in its pages.

It could be
beta ray bill's people
but as I recall wasn't he the only one who looked like that? Something about shape-changing, although I heard someone else say for the sake of the movie they could simplify it so they do all look like that.
So far popular theories are:
Atlanteans, Thanos, Beta Ray Bill and co., kree or skrull
however I believe Whedon has denied the last two...
They say you need to spend money to make money, well I've never made any money so by that logic I've never spent any.

It does look very spiffy indeed.

The Justice department has a good re-education programme-it's called five to ten in the cubes.

I bore (almost) silent witness today to a multi-generational conversation about the forthcoming film, The Avengers. You can imagine how tortuous it was when I tell you I had to chip in that it was Joanna Lumley who played Purdy.
