CAPTAIN AMERICA (doubtful): You sure about this?

BLACK WIDOW (doubtful): Yeah, it's gonna be fun.

Gahh!! It's that kind of sub-ironic dialogue that made BUFFY so FUCKING unwatchable!
Not sure if pervert or cheesecake expert.

Leonia and I saw The Avengers this morning (well, we saw a movie called Avengers Assemble, but that's only a fake name for some unfathomable reason)...

Me: Absolutely loved it - tremendous fun, very funny, very exciting, ties in perfectly with the other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Standout character was Banner / Hulk - Mark Ruffalo really did a superb job. Also loved Loki, Hawkeye and Agent Coulson.
3D didn't add much: as usual it was more of a distraction than an enhancement.

Leonia: Loved it, loved it, loved it! When can we go again?

Just gotta add... I know us comic nerds are all pissed at the name change, but even now I've still had a half dozen people in work asking me why they made another Steed and Mrs Peel film when the last one was so rubbish. Turns out people really are that dumb  :/

And yeah, seeing it with Iz tomorrow as she's out at the ballet tonight (get her!). Kinda wishing even tho I went last week and am going AGAIN with my dad next week, that I'd got a solo ticket for tonight.
And I pretty much forgot it was in 3D actually, but at least with this movie its so bright that the glasses didnt detract or make it all muggy.

My review of The Avengers is on-line at The Sociable. It's pretty much spoiler-free, but if you have any qualms then just bookmark it for later!

I nearly did p*** myself. Wanted to go about a third of the way through the movie, but was so into the film I did not want to get up. Then near the end I laughed at one scene......

Great film, my 15 yr old son Joe really enjoyed it too.

Stew.

I've always believed there should be either piss-tubes built into the seats, a piss-trough below the screen so you could piss and watch or screens in the jax.

An elastic band round the old crown jewels should do the trick when l go see it this coming Wednesday. :-\

Saw it today. Great film.

Tons of cool action sequences and some genuinely funny moments. Highly recommended.

yup what they said, nothing really to add except thats one of the best Comic Book Super hero movies I've ever seen.  All the fun and colour of the comic projected onto the screen perfectly.
Banner/Hulk really was a standout and definatly got  the best line
"puny god"
first time I've ever been an a cinema that has just erupted in laughter even when I've gone an watched actual comedies.  No character short changed and was very suppriesed at some of the short scenes/extended cameos from the other movies
(really suppried to see Pepper Potts and the scientist dude from Thor)
A question to those that have seen it and also watch How I Met You Mother, was Maria Hill (Fury's 2IC) Robin from HIMYM?  sounds like her but doesn't quite look like her to me but the guy I went and saw the movie with swears it's her?

Yep, Cobie Smulders, I remember hearing about it when she was first cast.  I thought she looked different in the stills that I've seen too; looking at her IMDB pictures, it seems like she's one of those actresses who manages to look incredibly different from role to role, surprisingly.

Really glad everyone seems to be loving this so much, though Grud knows when I'm going to actually get a chance to see it.

I'm sort of surprised that there hasn't been more mention of Harry Dean Stanton showing up briefly.

Dude's a legend.
