DAVE D'ANTIQUIS original art For Sale (but with questions)

Last year, quite by chance, I met Dave D'Antquis and he (very generously!) let me have some of his original art. Now original comic art isn't my thing, and I know Dave and the strips he worked on aren't "classics" like a lot of the other stuff I see discussed here, but as soon as he mentioned Brigand Doom I knew exactly who he was and his distinctive style.

I've got four pieces in all, two Brigand Doom pages from different stories (one colour, one b&w), one Vector 13 page (colour) and a DC Batman Chronicals page (b&w). I've also got the printed versions of the 2000AD pieces and it's been a really cool insight to see how "rough" an original piece can be - liquid paper and all - and how immaculate it can look when it's shrunk down a little for publishing. I guess this is old news to most of you...

Anyway, it seems silly for them to sit in a cupboard when there might be someone out there who's a fan of Dave's work. I'd like to sell them but I've no idea what they're worth or whether eBay (or here) is the right place to try and find a buyer. Also, I wonder how people ship items like these... they're done on heavy paper / card so they don't feel like they would roll very well...

I'll try and attach some small pictures to this to give you an idea of what I've got (I can't see in preview if it's worked it seems). I'll post the full size photos on Flikr later so you can have a more detailed look (I'll post a link).

Does anyone think they'll sell? Anyone here interested?

I know we spoke previously about Dave in another thread and I did send him a message saying people around these parts we wondering what he was up to, but he never replied...

Hell yeah- his work was, IMO, unfortunately always on strips that nver really hit the right note, script wise. Imagine what he'd have been like doubled with Dom on Cabs Inc?

Not sure why Brigand Doom wasn't better liked. I really got into it. The art was a big part of that, or course, but I thought the story and characters were pretty cool, too.

I was just thinking that... I'm not sure the guy ever got handed a decent script. Well, maybe some Future Shocks, Barney reveals that he did one with John Smith, so that was probably decent (can't remember though). Brigand Doom was a brilliant-looking character (and a great concept) but nothing much was ever really done with it.

Yeah big fan of his work. I personally think Silo is pretty good all be it with its influences worn very clearly on its sleeve. I'm also fond of Brigand Doom. Would love to have seen him do more, but glad we have what we do.

I LOVED the art and the first few scripts were great (if a little 'V for Vendetta'-lite.) However, the last couple of stories, particularly the one with Zombies or Vampires or whatever it was just got silly.

Saying that, I'd LOVE a re-boot.

Hmmm I think Zarjaz had a "soft reboot" and updating of the character not too long ago.
