Some joker might even be introducing them into the U.K. wildlife habitat as a prank. After all, surely a zoo would know if a large cat weht missing. Either that or some tom cats have been fed some radioactive catfood!

In the 70's and 80's it was fasionable to own a big cat among the rich and famous. If obtained illegally then the only way to dispose of them would be to release them to the wild when they become a burden.
There is not proof they are breeding but you can guarantee that the rich still buy and off load these the same way hence some of the sightings.

I find it curious that the majority of big cats sighted appear to be black panthers, the rarer leopards.

Then again, the fact they're rare would make them a novelty for the rich types who bought them.

You would need a lot of money to smuggle them into the U.K. and rear them and let them into the countryside without anyone knowing something about it. Do you think there is a conspiracy going on?

more like a stumpy inbred bobcat?

They reckon that lots of big cats and other beasties were released after 1976 when it become compulsory to hold a licence for exotic pets and spend lots of money upgrading facilities and getting vet certificates etc - before that there was no regulation.

No. You had me wondering a bit then. I saw a u.f.o. the other night, that just seem to float in the sky as if it was just drifting. It looked more like a balloon more than anything else except it was glowing in the dark ,an orange colour. The way it just hung up there in the sky was really quite eerie.
