COMICS HISTORY STRIPPED DOWN

Saturday 20 August
9:30pm - 10:30pm
RBS Main Theatre
£10.00, £8.00

This Glasgow boy takes time out from penning bestselling graphic novels to discuss the world of iconic comics with Supergods. Beginning with Schuster and Siegel's creation of Superman in 1938, Morrison charts the history of the superheroes to their modern, multiplex incarnations, looking at key characters, the odd spin-off and the forgotten curios that populate his universe. Sometimes a few words can tell the story of many thousands of pictures.

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Ooh, this is shortly after my birthday AND I can get tickets through work. I might make a date for this.

WI think we discussed on Saturday that him and Frank Quietly did in four panels and eight words what most film makers take 90 minutes to do.  Why can't we have a Superman film taht just bloody starts with action?

In other news, he's also coming to Forbidden Planet in Glasgow on 14th July.  They only have him for two hours though and expect it to be busy and ticketed so watch out on their facebook for details.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Nothing about 2000ad, a bit about Superman/Batman and lots of guff about being visited by aliens and teaching Robbie Williams magic.

This was jolly good fun.  He's not shy is he?  But he was also intelligent, thought provoking and funny.

He didn't mention much about the Supes reboot but did say he had some good wonder woman stuff coming up.

Even Mrs Tips thought it was a good night out.

(Never got my American edition of the rather entertaining SUPERGODS book signed as the queue was too big but I left my #1 of All Star Superman with Lindsey from Hi-Ex = hopefully she'll get it back to me.)
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Grant Morrison's fine as long as you take nothing he says serious.
