Also worth noting, the Oxfam bookshop on Nicholson street is planning on having a late opening comic sale the evening before the event! I've seen their stock of comics, and there's some great stuff there.

The only thing left to work out is: drinkie-poos in either Robbies or Prisillas??
Haw Haw! I like the Tourmalet.

Can't say much against a pub that has model Spitfires and Messerschmitts hanging from the ceiling, and a model train track running round it.

Although the local comics literati also like the Brass Monkey Leith.

Can't remember that but I kept my head down last time I was there...

Is the Brass Monkey formally the horseshoe? If so its next to the church my parents married in!!

Think so. As it happens I was in both those places last Thursday night. At a gig upstairs in Pilrig Church then into Brass Monkey for a couple of swift pints. The young lady I was with reckoned Brass Monkey had the vibe of a gay bar, although I couldn't see it myself. However, after I'd left, she reckons another girl was trying to hit on her. She got a phone number, just in case.

Did somebody say "pint"?

I'll leave it to you to connect the dots...  ;)

Tiplodocus

Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Proudhuff

If in doubt, go for the knob gag... yes gag but don't swallow   ;)

Looks like a fair few of the Jockward squad will be along for this, hopefully the court case will be over and Buttonman will be allowed to travel again and stay out beyond curfew

At some point after the gig I was thinking of hitting La Favorita http://www.la-favorita.com/main.php   just across the road as its IMHO one of the best Italians in Edinburgh, Just saying, for consideration, hat up the flag pole sorta thing

Cool. If you want to say "Hi", just look for the large, long haired guy in a nerdy t-shirt looking stressed. That'll be me. Name's Jamie. :)

So, how did it go? Owing to circumstances beyond my control (turns out my pal was heading back to New Zealand on Saturday so I was out/up till around half six in the morning) I wasn't in any state to go anywhere.

It went really well, thank you. Completely sold out, and (I hope) a good time was had by all.

Proudhuff:: It was good to shake your hand, sorry I couldn't hang about to chat!
