Does anybody attend these?

I go to most the Sheffield events and occasionally to Leeds. The trouble is you see largely the same folk at these and I was wondering how good the other ones are? Is the one in Manchester a decent sized event and a good place for tracking down back issues (American stuff I'm afraid).

At Sheffield there's normally what about 15ish sellers with normally between 2 - 6 tables worth of stuff I'd guess and I'm beginning to think I need to give it a break to allow the stock to replenish so thought of going to another for a change. Manchester and Nottingham are in easy range and Liverpool never needs much of an excuse for me to visit, so yeah are they any good elsewhere?

Go to Manchester show it used to be the biggest and best shows in the north ...Liverpool is shit and is normally on the sunday after , with less dealers than the Sheffield mart ( but not as bad as the Nottinham show ) ...

The best show for me was the Royal National in London 60 + dealers and loads of choice ...

Ive often wondered about marts, I can get cheap flights to the UK from the local airport so I can go on a day trip to the UK cheaper than getting to Dublin.  I would love to get to a mart with old UK comics, do any of the marts do UK comics or are they an all american affair?

The Sheffield one does have some UK stuff but is really dominated by US material. I'd certainly suggest that it wouldn't be worth a flight to attend alone (though Sheffield is a glorious city of course and well worth a visit!)

Thanks for the info Dale. I've always wanted to go to one of the big London shows but the simple economics of it mean that the cost of a train ticket really hits the price and i might as well order online. I'll defo try to make the Manchester event in September (busy for this weekends alas).

Now then to find another reason to visit London on the first Saturday of the month...

Spikes

havent been for a couple of years or so, but used to attend the sheffield one pretty regular (leeds and manchester as well). hasnt the sheffield one died a death since it moved from the uni? last time i went it wasnt much cop, (through-out the 90's/early 00's it was always worth the trip.)
last time in manchester it was still pretty good. sorta miss attending golden orbit now that i think of it.

I normally go to the Newcastle one when it roles around. There is plenty there from UK to US from all different times. I wouldn't travel far to it but I've alreays come way with a ton of stuff and my pockets empty lol.

If you go to the London one make sure you get the right one as once each quarter (I think) they have an extra section opened that includes a lot more sellers etc, as well as some nice artwork etc.
