Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time.

Despite what has been said by the more deranged among us, i was actually shocked at how much like dredd urban looked. Doubly so, considering he's never drawn the same way twice and my 'internal dredd' could be picked from any point over the last 34 years. Urban's scowl seems just right, and as someone (cosh?) said it's like he's aged ten years. We dont need a comedy chin- but we definitely needed those pads and boots. Top stuff.

Either it's a trick of the light or Not-Giant appears to have very small eyes, and Urban's line of vision isn't much of an improvement by the looks of things. They do well to work with this kind've obstruction.

Okay wow that full frontal Dredd is fantastic. As has been commented it looks a lot more streamlined than the shots of the upper sections suggested and it really is evocative of the early Dredd.

I'll go slightly against the grain and say Anderson doesn't match the image I have of her, but hey we'll see how see looked in action etc before I make any judgements (no pun intended). Nice that by and large a big fanboy community is being so positive. Either they have it right or the previous effort really lower our expectations!

Now to slink away from the movie threads for over a year to try to avoid any spoilers as I'm really looking forward to this now... its going to be tricky going...

Fukin A. Fukin A.
I think I need to change my underwear.
Anyone else think the helmet is very Ezquerra 'Apocalypse War' and not too big at all.
Not bought Empire for a long time but will be this month.

ARSOM

It's Prog 2 McMahon Dredd I tells ya!  The chin!  The shoulder pad!  The badassery!

Wow wow wow. Impresed is an understatement.
They all look great, gritty and bad ass. Early Dredd like which is good as it'll hopefully mean a trilogy. The shot of him kicking in the door wouldn't look out of place in the pages or cover of 2000ad/meg. Great stuff

mogzilla

might be a fuzzy memory, but did the dredd tale where they went behind enemy lines to get the kazan clone out not feature a urban commando type uniform (in arctic colours) just popped in there! like i say might be totally wrong...dammit wheres buttman?

I still don't understand why people think/feel this first shot of the helmet looked too big?

Looks perfect to me.

vzzbux

I totally agree. Always thought is was spot on even from that first still.
I think it is just some people need something to moan about.
