What are your views on this and how much of the prog/meg should it take up.
I was reading through some back prog's (750 to 700) and re-aquainted myself with these gems. Should they go back to the likes of these, making it topical, or stick to the boring norm.

Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.

Saint and Greavsie. Jeez, TV used to be shit.

Only if any new ads have that sweet Dermot Power art!

Richmond Clements

They're brilliant!

And by 'brilliant' I of course mean 'a fucking embarrassment'.

if domino advertised i could forsee smal blue things fortunes increase dramatically (not to mention sales of the prog!)

Mardroid

Not to mention waistlines.

Sure if it brought in revenue to the comic I wouldn't be adverse to it-they're pretty tongue in cheek after all and I don't find them offensive.

But that Dermont Power art is lovely.

I miss Dermont Power from The Prog.

As a side note, his pre-production art for THAT film featured in the related art book is gorgeous.

The advert with Dredd and Spikes Harvey Rotten selling Green Giant Sweet Corn is the best.

Produced as part of 2000AD's legal apology to Green Giant.

I could only find a tiny bit of it online.

I find it pretty funny, reading through old Progs, how much Scientology stuff is in there. Barely a few weeks goes by without some L Rob Hubbard bullshit or other being advertised.

But in the modern Prog, I'd be happy to see a ton more adverts. Three or four pages per month would be great, if extremely unlikely to ever happen. And that's because regular advertising from third parties is extra money for the mag.

Lovely colour work from Dermot Power. Not sure about the B/W work, Barry Kitson maybe ? Any way good stuff.
