No, Ridley Scott directed Promethius, the alien prequel. Tony was a producer though.

Sir Ridley Scott is working on a sequal to Blade Runner while hh.s younger brother Tony is working on a prequal to the Alien franchise.

You're an idiot.

He should googled before ask any of us questions, Tony Scott is busy now remaking the Wild Bunch(that one of rare films that should be remaked!)

Was he asking or making a statement though?, anyway this is a forum so questions are allowed for discussion.

Batman's Superior Cousin

Thank you James for correcting my spelling. At least you were polite enough to correct me unlike some people.

how about just showing us the amazing things Roy's seen, you know C-Beams glittering etc etc.  Set it in the same universe but go galactic with it.  Show the replicants being used and abused, give us a reason to go for the replicants in the original.  Oh and make it more intresting than the original so i dont fall asleep 20 minutes in like I always do when ever i try to watch it.  It's one of those movies that i love the visual asthetics but find boring as shit.

CU Radbacker

Hahahaha! I hear that. I know it's a classic and all that, but I have fallen asleep while watching Blade Runner on several occasions.

Yeah! We wanna see attack ships on fire off the coast of Orion or whatever it was.

And yes, it's a well known cure for insomnia is Bladerunner. Always good though.

A prequel would ruin Roy's mysterious past.

A sequel would ruin Deckard's mysterious future.

A remake is pointless.

That's my tuppenceworth, anyway.

From what I've read, it's unlikely Harrison Ford will be in the sequel.

That being said, we could still find out what happened to him, I guess, so you could be right.

I have mixed feelings concerning a sequel. I love the original*, and I enjoy the ambiguous ending of the Director's and Final cut. (And I don't dislike the theatrical ending, although I find the other superior.) On the other hand, I really like the world they create and would like to catch up with it again. Even if we do find out what happened to Deckard and Rachel, I don't think that would ruin the first film for me. It is as it stands.

Maybe they'll take completely different characters in that world and go off on a bit of a tangent while exploring the same ideas and themes in a different way.

Did anyone here see the series Total Recall 2070? Although borrowing the name, and certain ideas from the film Total Recall, it seemed to borrow more from Blade Runner. It was an interesting short-lived series.

*For the naysayers, I reacted much the same when I was first watching it. I found it dreary and boring. Strangely, the end made the film for me. That sounds strange, but  I really enjoyed the last segment of the film. Strangely on going back and watching the rest, I enjoy it all now, and I don't mind the slow pace one bit.

Well, assuming she's able to stay off the sauce and break a leg instead of her arm, I might be interested in sequel that features only Rachel (and maybe yer man Gaff). It's only the Happy Ending that states she doesn't have an incept date, yes?
