It looks great but apparently it's awful.

Alien Goodness

I saw the first trailer for this film a while back and thought it looks awesome. Problem is that experience has taught me that many films with trailers that look awesome turn out to be duds. The first film was OK, but not brilliant IMO. Will the law of sequels hold true? Meaning that it will be worse than the original: So worse than OK is cr*p. However I'm a big Nicolas Cage fan and will watch him read the shipping forecast so I'll be watching regardless.

I honestly think Ghost Rider is the shittest super hero ever

What? He rides a motorbike and his head is on fire! What more do you want?

Early word of mouth on this is that it's a massive stinker, even worse than the first.

That's some achievement in itself!

That looks bloody terrible.

"You should be."

Please stop giving Nic Cage money to make movies.

I think there's a vast pantheon of secondary x-men characters that fit that bill and many of them ended up in the films chewing up screen-time which is bewildering.

I didn't enjoy the 1st film, so I'm quietly hopeful that this turns out to be an improvement. However, those Crank guys so far haven't done anything to convince me they've got any talent whatsoever. The Crank movies are so undisciplined that I just found them dull, and while Gamer had some decent ideas the action let it down again. They seem so desperate for things to appear exciting through constant editing and shakey camera moves that it just becomes pretty unwatchable. A shame, because if this fails GR probably won't get a 3rd chance and there's a great movie to be made there.

Nic Cage should be in all movies.
FTFY  :P

I love NIck Cage and will pretty much watch anything he's in, still have not yet subjected myself to The Wicker Man remake but feel that I have seen the best on various You_tube clips.

Has anyone got a link to "early word of mouth" or is this just rumours.

It screened at the AICN film festival event, and was widely reported to get a mixed/poor response. Several tweets were very damning. The most positive review was that it was fun in a juvenile, pulpy way, but even that one conceded that the characters, story and 3d were rubbish.

The version of the film screened may not have been 100% finished, but it's unlikely to change much before release.

Well, that article does have the quote "'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' is next year's 'Punisher: War Zone.'", which has actually sold me on it a little, which probably wasn't the intent. If that means it's going to be a really good looking, stylish and faithful adaptation that bombs at the box office then it's not all bad.

I don't think it will be though, given my feelings about the Crank dudes.

Taking my boys to see this later, after they chose it above the phantom menace. We're all fans of the first one, and the character in general, and i find nic cage incredibly watchable in his genre roles, if a hideous pain in the arse in more general general principle. Looking forward to it greatly, in a 'taking small children to an innappropriate movie and then having takeaway afterwards because mummys away' daddy kind of way.
