Thanks to his piscine majesty for originally bringing my attention to this.

Wot Comics Taught Me... Dundee Comics Day 2011
The 2011 Dundee Comics Day welcomes a stellar line-up of talent to Dundee.
Answering the question "what can comics teach us?" will be John Wagner,
Frank Quietly, Cam Kennedy, Colin MacNeil and Robbie Morrison.
There will also be talks by noted comics historian Paul Gravett, who will be
discussing his new book 1001 Comics You Must Read Before You Die, as well as
Martin Conaghan and Will Pickering (creators of the Burke & Hare graphic novel),
and Phil Vaughan and Jamie Bryan, who work on the interface between comic,
computer games and animation.

We're welcoming an incredible array of comic talent to Dundee, designed to appeal
to everyone with an interest in comics, and will be accessible to the general public,
comics fans of all ages, and those with a scholarly interest in the medium.
For more information about the Comics Day please contact Dr Chris Murray at

OH and I'll almost certainly be driving up and back on the Sunday so if anybody fancies a lift, I can swing through Glasgow and pick them up/drop them off.

I'm game, that looks a great line up, I'd let the train take the strain as I'm sick of driving that road.

Yay!

It looks great and I'll definitely be there.

I started a thread about this a few days ago but it slipped under the radar. Whatevs.  :)

...maybe, possibly... will be in glasgow for previous 2 weeks, so could possibly shuffle past, pretty incredible line up from what I've read.

Tiplodocus

Ah, cheers Trouty.  I thought it odd that you'd posted on FaceBook but not on here but I couldn't find anything here when I looked earlier.

Mods, can you merge the threads please?

I noticed that. It's very nice of him.

I got my ticket through in the post the other day. Plans are afoot for a beery experience afterwards. This is going to be great!

Proudhuff

release the hounds!

I was thinking of booking my train tickets, (early start on the Sunday) and was wondering about the return time then I saw the words 'wine reception'  what time is the last stage out of Dundee?  :o

No idea, but you'll get a room in the (very clean) youth hostel where I'm staying for £25.

Note that the event itself is on a Sunday...

Proudhuff

Early start to get there for the start.  ;) .. Working Monday on normal

Tickets booked. Sadly no beeriness for me as I'll be driving back that evening and I'll also have (not so) Tiny Tips with me.

But it looks great.
