Who likes wrestling?

Hey guys and gals.

I want to share a commission with you. The story started a few months back when I did a pin up page of a few of my favourite wrestlers. I was very proud that William Moody (Paul Bearer himself) approved of my work.

Shortly afterwards I was contacted by a fan of the Attitude Era of the (then) WWF asking if I could draw one or two of his favourite wrestlers from that time period. So being the huge wrestling fan that I am we got talking and bounced more and more names off of each other until I hit the grim reality that I'd just signed on to draw all who we'd spoken about.

Now I understand that not EVERY Attitude Era wrestler is here, but my page was only so big.

So please check out the image below and drop me a line and let me know how many you can name and complain to me that I've missed out your favourite guy and who you'd like me to draw next.

I've had positive feedback from Paul Bearer, Bret Hart, Road Dogg, Goldust, D-Lo Brown, Mick Foley and others complimenting me on this, which has been a real ego boost to hear from those guys.

Stay slinky,

G.

Cool pic, I'm really liking your style.

However, as I can't find Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks or Kendo Nagaseki, I can't comment on the accuracy. :D

johnnystress

Love your style. It's a great drawing but I have no idea who they are

That's just what I was going to say!

Spaceghost

Never been into wrestling but I love the picture.
Raised in the wild by sarcastic wolves.

Previously known as L*e B*tes. Sshhh, going undercover...

COMMANDO FORCES

I like the style, very distinctive!

SuperSurfer

This is great. Don't know about wrestling but I was looking for Mr Socko.

Or is he from a different era or company? Is that like asking if Batman is by Marvel? No doubt some fan out there will want to give me the 'clothes line' for asking.

Simud

Know nothing about wrestling, but the pic is truly great. You sure had lotta fun working on it.

Bluecube

Rocky, Rocky, Rocky! etc  :D

I thought Bret Hart was dead!
An Atlantean Triumvirate
Ghosts of the Past

Mr Socko is a Sock that Mick Foley (wrestling as Mankind) used to wear on his hand before stuffing it down someones throat. Mankind is depicted in this peice (bottom left - being held up by his neck) but the guy who wanted the peice chose a time frame just before he introduced Socko - hece his absence.

Thanks for all the kind words gents.

Emperor

Ahhhhhh I thought this was an invitation to get some wrasslin in. :(

Anyway I know more than I should about wrestling (although I would argue that Mick Foley's Have a Nice Day is well worth a read even if you aren't that interested in the "sport") and had fun spotting the wrestlers (the Paul Bearer is especially good). Any chance of a list of who is there?
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

A list? That would take all the fun out of the game ;)

Buttonman

I liked wrestling for a while while Sageant Slaughter was a bad guy (with Musapha?) then he became a good guy and some of the good guys went bad and I realised it may be <gasp> scripted.

I liked Money Incorporated best when it was Million Dollar Man (with servant Virgil) and IRS. Not really enough variety to maintain my interest but if you take it as a bit of fun it can be entertaining. Like the pic too!

Going off on a tangent, Mankind's demise and the return of Cactus Jack is up there with the best of any soap opera.
Not sure if pervert or cheesecake expert.

Is that Stone Cold Steve Austin bottom right?
You ever notice that everyone who believes in creationism looks really unevolved? Eyes real close together, big furry hands and feet. "I believe God created me in one day." Yeah, looks like he rushed it.
