I've posted this elsewhere but since I haven't had a responce yet figured would be quicker to just do it this way.

Probably should have asked this before we booked our tickets but what the hell to late now. We are only going on the Saturday by the way.

It's me and the wife's first year at Thought Bubble so can anyone help us by telling us what to expect?
How busy is it normally when your picking up your tickets? (How early should we get there?)
What time does the floor close?
Is the place easy to find? (Our hotel is about a 20min walk from the con).
How do we meet the special guests? Are there scheduled signings or do the just have there own tables?
If there are any, how do the panels work?
Do the 2000AD boardies meet up at any point?

There is probaly more stuff we'll think of later so please keep on your toes lol.

Thanks for any help   :)

I've never been to TB before, so can't help with specifics on queues/venue; but at most cons there's usually a dealer hall with lots of stalls, and the talks and panels are timetabled for various side rooms. The special guests may be appearing at these panels, but they usually have a table either in the main hall or elsewhere where gushing fans can queue up for chats/sketches.

There will certainly be a board meet up! Not sure where or when yet - The Futurequake table often ends up being the default hang out point for boarders (or the bar if there's one on-site), but keep watching the main thread closer to the day and someone will arrange a sordid piss-up stimulating soiree of witty debate for the saturday evening.

It will be my 1st Thought Bubble this year too. Looking forward to it.

I'll be going again for my third Thought Bubble. It's the only comic convention I've been to so I can't really compare it to anything else, but I have had an ace time both times.

I took my wife and kids last year and they all loved it. There were some creators from the DFC signing Vern and Lettuce books which my son loves, and they also had some Build Your Own Alien activities.

I usually hover around the 2000 AD droids area where they're usually sat, sketching and chatting with the sweaty masses. There's a short wait to see your favourite droid but you can take the opportunity for some banter with your fellow Squaxx.

There were loads of people in costume; my son was excited to have his picture taken with Spidey, but not as excited as I was to pose with Judge Dredd (see my avatar pic)!

Don't know if I'll be going out on't piss as I'll probably take the kids again but I'll be going to pester Bolt and Rich at the FutureQuake stand at some point in the day.

I bet I walked past a few fellow boarders on my last visit without knowing it. Maybe we should wear special badges to identify ourselves?

You ever notice that everyone who believes in creationism looks really unevolved? Eyes real close together, big furry hands and feet. "I believe God created me in one day." Yeah, looks like he rushed it.

I'll be there all weekend, flogging comics to all and sundry- sketching too if anyone wants one. I believe RAC & Bou are coming too, so hopefully we'll be able to sort some kind of board event for the evening.
