Gotta admit, and I'm sure I'll get stoned for this and not in the good way, I dont really remember it being a regular thing. Tho that said I was never really one for reading the letters pages. Now I do but thats only since getting back onboard

Also, I kinda wish we were having this discussion before I got one as I think its an awesome idea and a nice little nod to people going over and above. Not something people should aim for but a cool thumbs up from the nerve center. Kind of like having your name written into a story   
I really hope they keep it up and next year some guy who regularly writes in to the letters page or whatever gets sent one because you know what? It'll make his fucking week

I agree Wake has deserving credentials but also Gavin Hanley who ran the 2000ad Review site for many unrewarded years. All about timing I guess.

Timing - something like 25 years of writing letters with 80 printed that's the....nope not convincing myself.

I reckon next year the award should go to someone who has written at least two full length Dredd movie scripts; a kind of canny little fella who takes the time to write directly to the Kingsleys to let his opinions known, a fan who takes the time to bombard not only his own one-man forum with dozens of messages about Dredd but also IMDB's. A guy who is SO passionate about who should play Dredd in a movie that he shouts it from the virtual rooftops!

If only there was such a man!
