Been gagging for this! Forget America, my Dredd daily Star Mega-Collection was what I used to give people to let them find out about Dredd and his world.  Little vignettes of fried gold!

Do I have to wait till next Christmas though!?! :o

The Adventurer

Wasn't there a more recent Dredd comic strip? I seem to recall it being reprinted in the Megazine a few times a few years ago. Unless those were colored Daily Star Dredds

THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

Those were from the Metro, which is a daily UK freesheet.

I'm genuinely excited about this! Bet we don't have to wait till next Christmas either.

Would be cool if it included the recent 'Beyond 2000ad' piece and I'm sure it'd make an interesting read to hear how Leigh and Orlok (and others?) managed to track those elusive episodes too if it is to include any extras..

Spikes

Brilliant news. And a essential purchase, if ever there was.

Magnetica

An essential purchase for me as well. Always loved it when these were re-printed in the annuals etc. Would like to see a collection of the Metro ones as well. I seem to remember an artist other than Ron Smith doing some - possibly Ian Gibson?? Does any one know?

hippynumber1

Off the top of my head there were Gibson, Barry Kitson and Mike Collins ones...

Hmmm...  do I have this already?  I have the light blue covered hardback edition from years back, plus a few of the collections in paperback.  Does this compendium include any strips missing from the earlier releases, does anyone know?

Quite a lot, I believe.

That's a purchase then! :D

Spikes

I wonder if Ron Smith would like to do another book signing?

Is this summat that's being considered?

Ron's unfortunately quite ill and I suspect he won't be coming out to do any more signings any time soon.  :(

Also he doesn't have any of the Daily Star strips left, if you want one try looking on ebay, Ian Senior (using various accounts it seems) is selling what's left out there.

There were also Dredd strips in the Metro (some reprinted in the Meg) and colour strips in the News of the World in 95 based on the film (by Ron again) where you can see Dredd with no helmet on!

Various other artists did the Daily Star strips as well, check out the Beyond 2000 AD book for more details.
