US-sized comic "binders"?

I think I've asked this before, but can't find it. Here goes anyway-

Is it possible to buy binders for US comics ANYWHERE on the Internet? After decades in storage, I've found that the comics I bagged are in exactly the same condition as the ones I didn't. As a result of this, I have decided I'd like to get some of my complete runs in binders and on the shelf. Trades are expensive, and I'm wondering what the point of buying everything twice is.

I just want binders that are US sized, hold a thick wodge of issues, using the little bar that runs top to bottom through the centrepages. I do not want to hole punch them or have to keep them in sleeves.

After several months of periodic trawling of the web, I can't find a sodding thing; which strikes me as odd. I even approached a local (Lewes) bookbinder to scope out how much it would cost to get them properly bound- and received NO response whatsoever, despite three emails over the course of three weeks.

Any ideas?

I bought from them to store a bunch of UK sized comics for my eldest- and the quality is great. But I can't find anywhere on the site that does them in the smaller size suitable for US comics... not without ordering a bespoke one in quantities of 50+.

They certainly did small quantitys when I got mine as u got 2 at a time.

Worth a re-check in case you are missing an option I think.

That was me.  It was the Maine range I've even done the search for you -

The Walnut coloured one is on sale.

Bumpity bump.

Today, my order of a 'american sized' binder arrived, along with 26 binding strips and a label reading, annoyingly, 'spiderman limited series' (had to leave out the hyphen due to a draconian 9 character per line policy. It will bug me forever.)

Anyway, looking a it, now the comics are bound, it's massive. I reckon i could easily get another 15 issues in there, if i had the binding strips. Most interestingly, it SEEMS to be exactly the right size for modern progs. Exactly. The cover is extends a good three inches past the dimensions of a us comic, but would suit the prog.

I may post a pic here later, but the temptation to bind the last few years worth of 2000AD is now immense.

With regards to paper degeneration, i have comics from nearly thirty years ago (or at least from the start of the switch to baxter paper) which have been unbagged all that time, and which are pretty close to perfect condition. Aside from the danger of damp/ accidental damage, surely the prog's current paper will (cont)

(probably) see me out? The thought of, say, the last ten years worth in nice neat binders in a dedicated bookcase has an alarming pull. Someone said theyve done this with the meg floppies- how's that worked out? Im not convinced re these particular binders' suitability for american comics, but...

Depends on cost but I would rather get the comics bound into a book for £15 rather than buy a binder. You can add what you want (header, silk book mark, whatever inscription you want on the spine etc...) for a small amount each and the more you do the cheaper it becomes. If you're doing a run of the same comic I would suggest thats the way to go.

And having them bound properly (upto 2 and a half inches I believe) would look sooooo much better than what you have there. I'll put up a piccy or two of my bound Batman's if you wish, and of course they will bind the covers to the size of the comic and make them nice and level.

See, that's what i really wanted to do- but all my enquiries to bookbinders have met with stony silence! At fifteen quid, yeah id be interested. Care to send me a linky?
