COMMANDO FORCES

I ordered the CD for about £9 the other day and that's what I'm sticking at.

For this week anyway.

I don't have children so I'm perfectly capable of affording this. Don't think I'll do so, though.

I always thought that Dredd vs. Death pretty much nailed the tone of Dredd in terms of the soundtrack.

Pretty damn good.

And I LOVE the music from Deadworld!

Drokk received a 4 star (out of 5) review in the latest Mojo magazine.

I gave this a good old listen to last night and could hear numerous influences through the cd. Mostly it reminded me of the music from Dawn and Day of the Dead. It had snippets of Escape from New York and Terminator scattered around the place. There was definitely some John Carpenter in there along with a wee bit of Kraftwork.
To round it all off I just played the start of a certain track to the good lady to see if she would agree with me and she did. There is one track that begins like Kim Wilde's 'Kids in America'

So there you are, go and buy it now!

Yep, I really like it too. It's a bit of a mash up of the Terminator, Drive and any 1980s Carpenter soundtrack.

Hope the official Dredd ost is anywhere near as good.

There's going to be a performance of extracts from the album at Orbital Comics on 16th May

There's a big interview with Geoff Barrow about the album and his love for 2000AD:

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Great interview, very interesting fro a musical point of view (4th Portishead record YAH!). Just a shame that they talk about 2000ad as though its done and dusted!

Having obsessively listened to it on the website since that link was shared a while back, I've finally got hold of a copy and am really enjoying it. The Carpenter vibe was apparent from the outset (shades in particular of 'Prince of Darkness') but the more I listen, the more I'm hearing that healthy Brad Fiedel influence (and maybe even a wee bit of Claudio Simonetti?) Smashing.

Are they shipping the T-Shirt version yet?

O Lucky Stevie!

Snut! JB Hi Fi --the cheaper music retail alternative here in Auxtralia-- are gouging peeps Au$30.99 for the standard edition & Au$35.99 for the special edition cd:

Which is pretty snecking steep considering that most other Invada releases range from Au$17.99 to Au$24.99:.

*Boca's Jukebox wasn't an Invada release.

Nice four-star review of DROKK on Den of Geek:

QuoteNo crunching dubstep or glitch squeaks in sight. No angsty metal band groaning about being set free while they collect a hefty fee. Every 2000AD fan, electro-kid and soundtrack buff should give Drokk a listen. It's the law.
