Ah, the old variant cover caper. It is 2000AD, so excused.

Space Spinner? Surely the purpose of the free gift is to attract new or lapsed readers and not to tickle the nerd-nerve of the ancients frequenting this forum.

Well that is just lovely, I mean really lovely. Not sure what the other cover will be but if I don't get this one, however much I normally avoid getting variants like the plague I'll be doubling up here.

I love a montage me, but all praise Chris Weston (well whomever came up with that design anyway) for getting the recent thrill front and centre and reminding folk just how great the comic is not, not just when The Apocalypse War was running. Just wonderful, everyone there has been in the comic, what in the last 18 months or so?

Brilliant.

Grant Goggans

It's a thing of beauty.  Can't wait to see the finished piece on the prog.

Who's the cheeky chappie next to Dandridge with the side parting and roguish grin?

And I love the fact that Dirty Frank has never looked more like Alan Moore. Lovely.
Raised in the wild by sarcastic wolves.

Previously known as L*e B*tes. Sshhh, going undercover...

Philip Janet, maybe?

QuoteAs opposed to just kicking off. Which is all you seem to do.

I thought I was very reserved and now await my obligatory fatherly telling off from one of the boards elder statesmen.

Please don't use two adverbs in a row. It's irritating.  ;)

Steve Green

Lovely cover, I've got a particular fondness for those ensemble pieces.

Absolutely gorgeous stuff!  :D

Any chance of a sneaky peak at the variant cover?

I doubt I'll get both original and variant (I'm not a collector that way) but I plan to get the proper hard copy that week as opposed to the digital version I usually download from Clickwheel* and not just for the gift.... which I'm very much looking forward to.

Puff, puff. How's that for a run on sentence? And to think that I fancy myself a writer. (Any potential employers reading this, I don't do that in my scripts. Honest. ;)  )

*Mind you, I intended to do that with the Christmas Prog but left it too late and WH Smiths was all out! So, digital it was...

My local Asda still has a pile of Christmas Progs still on the shelf.

Not yet.

Oooh, you tease Molch-R!

Just realised that my previous post gave me a total of 1977! Good year that!  ;)

That is an absolutely gorgeous cover. Like others , I love the group shot covers , and I'm also pleased Chris Weston is back. I wish he were back in the prog as well. A follow up to Killing Time maybe?
It's a bit of a bugger that subscribers don't get both but it just means that I have to *gasp* venture out into the town again. Well done to John there for remembering the Kev Levell commission. It does remind you a bit doesn't it? I'm really pleased that 2000AD has reached this milestone and hope to hell it reaches many more.
...because I hate you.
