Anyone read the trilogy? I was thinking of reading them. Heard they were some of the insperation behind the creation of Dredd? S'wat I heard?

I read the first two novels, but they were hard-going - I didn't think they were particularly well-constructed. I preferred the movie which although it lacked many of the novel's scenes, was more cohesive.

Not much material which I would say might have inspired the creation of Judge Dredd, although the Sandman sidearm has multiple specialised rounds. The Marvel Comics series was a childhood favourite - I used to find it very freaky, particularly the face-change clinic laser being reprogrammed to kill Logan...!

I hear what your sayin John, but! If you look @ what the set up is they hold full jurisdiction over every one including the right to kill or 'retire' and it's a domed city protecting and evryone from a supposedly deadly exterior environment (The Cursed Earth).Admittedly they shag about a bit so that bit an't necessarily so
