Both those articles are pretty old (I figured it out when it suggested Star Trek 2 was coming out in June. Cause it sure ain't.) still though, they do seem to be dragging their heels on Cloverfield 2.

Like the first one wasn't sh*te enough  :D

I agree with Beeks, overrated film.

I thought it was a solid, modern take on the monster movie, but I can't for the life of me see why a follow-up or even a prequel would be needed.

First CLOVERFIELD was enjoyable enough at the time but very little of it has stayed with me.

A sequel or a prequel? Because of the overwhelming artistic need to make some money, I think.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

I'd welcome a sequel personally - thought it had many fine moments. My favourite was the bit where they end up between the beastie and a load of soldiers who are just throwing everything they've got at it. Really captured how I imagine that situation would actually be for all involved - absolute bloody chaos!

Didn't think the original was anything special. One of those films that really needed to be seen in the cinema?

I wanted to enjoy it but it made me feel really really motion sick. Just thinking about that film can make me fee dizzy :S

I saw Cloverfield in the cinema and loved every minute of it. It was a total breath of fresh air and it made the monster movie genre once again relevant, thrilling, scary and believable. I bought it on DVD and I've watched it loads of times. Even if it happens to be on TV, I can't change the channel once I've found it. It's one of my favourite films of all time and I never get sick of watching it (or sick while watching it ;). ).

I'd heard that a sequel was in the works and it would possibly follow a different group of survivors and be set simultaneously with the first film which sounds, if it uses the same 'handy-cam' style, like it might be a pointless exercise. It depends on whether or not they're going to do something new and original with it.
