Spikes

This remake looks a bit poo.

visually the teaser looks like a mash up of other peoples ideas-unless it's an attempt to create some sort of synergy with Minority Report and Blade Runner, in which case bravo.

Stiil the name's Len Weisman and Kate Beckinsale hardly inspire confidence- as much as I liked her dad in Rising Damp.

Phil-Dick-ien in it's intricacies.

They seem to be questioning the nature of reality itself ala Matrix which certainly takes it away from the Austrian Plank vehicle the first film was.

That said I do enjoy the first 45 mins of the original Total Recall so I'm glad this one is set entirely on Earth.

Wonder what the twist will be?

Sorry Quaid your life is just a dream?

Follow the yellow brick road?

It's the Jerry Springer Show and Colin Farrel's is unknowingly going out with a transgender transvestite ?

I'm actually looking forward to this.

I'm in the 'Arnold was great in the 80s camp.  The original Total Recall is just about perfect, except for....No, no, it's perfect.  Remaking it is phenomenally pointless and my prediction is that the remake will be worse than the Get Smart movie. So do sing out if it's worth watching.

Will this film have any three breasted women or mini Danny Devito lookalikes growing out of people's bellies?

If it feature's the above and this -

QuoteMelina: Hello, Hauser. Still bulging, I see. What you been feeding this thing? Quaid: Blondes. Melina: I think it's still hungry.

I'll be a happy man shallow but happy :)
loveforstitch - Does he fall in love? I like a little romance in all my movies.

Rekaert - Yes, he demonstrates it with bullets, punches and sentencing.

He's Mega City 1's own Don Juan.

Sigh. Apart from the Mars stuff it looks like it follows the same plot. Expected though, I suppose it being based on the same material. Hopefully they'll provide another twist to it.

Or, you know, its ostensible source material.

Sorry IATS, I am picking on you purely as a representative of the rest of this thread. I've always thought Total Recall was the perfect mix of dumb Arnie blockbuster and reasonably smart sci-fi and the multiple potential levels of reality was always a part of the story. I'm genuinely surprised to see so many people here dislike it.

Not really fussed about a remake either way. Will probably see it at some point. More importantly, this thread gives me yet another chance to post a link to the best website of all time:

Cranston is in this. I will probably see it.
He's only trying to be what following how his dreams make you wanna be, man!

I'm not arguing.

I still watch it when it comes on TV!  :D

I certainly don't hate it or the re make and there is that really rather questioning moment when you think 'Well is it all a paranoid fantasy?'

By the way How did 'he get his ass to Mars?'
