Roger Langridge mentions in this interview that he's working on something for IDW thats "pretty different" to his regular stuff.
Just a thought but could he be writing the new IDW Judge Dredd title?

Not much to go on, but it would certainly be very interesting to see if it turned out to be right.

O Lucky Stevie!

Really underwhelmed by the prospect of colourised reprints* but Stevie would buy Langridge Dredd in a flash.

*As magnificently produced a package as that Dave Gibbons Collection is Stevie is sticking with his Panini albums.
"We'll send all these nasty words to Aunt Jane. Don't you think that would be fun?"

All 19 of Brian Bolland Dredd stories collected in full colour hardback.

The colourist for that is Charlie Kirchoff:

You can see samples of his colouring on there, especially his Doctor Who work. The more modern work he has a  subtle palette that reminds me of Pete Doherty's work but on the older Whos he uses more saturated colours that give it the feel of who they might have been done back in the day. So he seems to switch the colouring scheme around depending on the project and the artist (someone like Matthew Dow Smith, now that is a familiar name..., has a more Mignola-influenced style so the colours are simpler), which all bodes well. I can't wait to see samples of his Bolland colouring.

He is also on DA if you want to check his work out there:

It's okay, it's both. A new series of comics and a colourised bolland collection in hardback.

And are there any new details you can give about your upcoming "Judge Dredd" series?

At Comic-Con, we're going to doing a Dredd anniversary panel with the 2000 AD guys. They'll talk about their plans, we'll be releasing the "Dredd" creative team there and showing a bit of stuff. That's when it's all going to kick off. That's one that I'm really excited about, too, because I'm working directly on that and I'm really happy with the direction that we're going to go with it. I think people are really going to dig that one.

Nice, but there is something wrong with that right shoulder.

The post on his blog has now been taken down. Looks good from what I can make out.

Please let that be a generic cover that does not refer to the contents of the comic. Making the introduction of the Stallone-ified lawgiver a crucial part of Doomsday's narrative was one of the cheesiest things the Dredd strip has ever done. I'm not arguing that was the reason Doomsday was (for me) a disappointment, but using up even a few frames of your six pages a week on fanboy nonsense like that doesn't strike me as a great editorial decision.

Especially when Dredd's uniform and the rest of his kit's always been depicted differently depending which artist's drawing him anyway.

When flashbacks in stories like Blood Cadets and Blood and Duty depict the Judge's gear in the style of early McMahon or Gibson, it allows more literal readers to imagine that Justice Dept regularly redesigns and upgrades its tech, while others can enjoy the droll humour in acknowledging that everyone's making this shit up as they go along. Writing changes to the lawgiver design into the strip's lore just carves this nonsense in stone, closes down narrative possibilities, and limits the ability of different readers to enjoy Judge Dredd for different reasons- which has always been one of its greatest strengths.

I just dont like that cover because it looks like it's exploded out of the mid-nineties, via the back of the star-scan cupboard, and may well have featured on the cover of 'legends of the law' back in the day. But im surthe rest of the comic will be fine :-/
