wow, signed by Mike MacMahan, Brian Bollan, Allen Grant and Dave Gibbon. Nice.

If I were cynical I'd say those 'errors' have been added so that we think 'This sucker doesn't know what he has' and pay the £200 before realising it's worth 10% of that.

Could be a good time to sell your Dredd based rarities in anticipation of the film before buying them back for less once the broo-ha-ha has died down. I've got a full run including decent copies of the banned issues and a nice 1208 but for the most part mine are reading copies which is what they were intended for.

That said I did buy 100's of copies off eBay in a short period and it was only once I started a 'big read' did I find out that many had pages missing where once there were star scans or competition entry forms - caveat emptor! Had to go back and find the single issues which was a lot harder than buying a crisp box full for £20.

Dredd/Prog 2 Mania has well and truly arrived. Up and down the land, grown men are rushing home to their folks and searching the attic's - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000AD-Prog-2-Free-Gift-second-ever-issue-/140732504342  just under 40 mins left on this.

And another -  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-AD-Prog-2-FREE-GIFT-stickers-/160776479818 3 days on this.

I'm sure I saw a BIN for Prog 2 over £2000 the other day

Well I guess they will be signficently harder to get hold of in the US and it does seem to be in lovely knick... still its a lot.

Am I reading that right?

£1500 ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?

Thats the same copy that made the news a couple of months ago when it sold for £600ish.
The buyers offloading it pretty soon, int he?

He11blazer

Ack! Yep that was the same copy I sold to comix4fun for £621. He then listed it at a $3500 BIN and apparently it sold for $2500!

Looks like I left £1000 on the table  :o

Funny thing is I bought it from mycomicshop.com (in the US) for less than £200 in December 2010.

Crazy stuff huh?

Dandontdare

ah don't kick yourself. There's only one idiot in this story and it's the guy who paid $2500!

SmallBlueThing

The guy who bought it's no 'idiot'- s/he got what s/he wanted, and paid the price s/he was willing to pay. My dad reckons i'm an idiot to pay £2.35 a week for 'a kids comic'. I paid a tenner for prog 2 about ten years ago, in ratty condition with a hole in the middle. Makes no odds, but id like to upgrade at some point- it's looking increasingly unlikely though, seeings it's attracting such high prices these days.

Still, maybe i'll pick up another like i did my prog 3: 5p at a jumble sale.

True, if they had money to spend and really wanted it, it's not stupid. But on the other hand, when you could get over 100 graphic novels for that money, it's sure not practical.

COMMANDO FORCES

I love reading stuff like this :D

And another one has popped up on E-bay here
Certainly not as pristine as those other copies, but with two days left to run its already at a staggering £670!

He11blazer

That's my listing!

Note: ebay seller djmother2 has a listing up using MY PHOTOS of MY comic that I currently have listed as above. Here is the FRAUDULENT listing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000AD-prog-2-with-free-gift-/251164498974?pt=UK_Books_comics_Magazines_UK_Comics_ET&hash=item3a7a921c1e

I have of course reported it.
