I'll reiterate..when this was created it was called a Union Jack..the design has not changed..you can argue the toss with me until your blue in the face..but it's like someone arguing that Christmas is Christ's birthday

You're all wrong. It's called the Union Jill because the monarch is female

If you wish to split hairs Beeksy then this is the union jack from 1606. Different to our UNION FLAG by one nation.

Also this was nicknamed 'The Union' by the navy. The word Jack is still cloudy of when it was first used.
