Best bit for me is the close up of Dredd with the strobe light and cool sound effects...

Looks great!

Wow! Far better than I could even have hoped for. Stunning!

Is anyone else just a little nervous that the 'bullet time' slow-mo might make things a little too gimicky visually? Even if there is an in-plot reason for it?

I mean, stuff like Ultra Violet and the Resident Evil movies do stuff that these days to show off their gimmicky 3D usage, and they're pretty cheesy, and not at all what I want to see a Dredd movie in the same league as?

Other then that "NEGOTIATIONS ARE OVER." Nuff' Said.

THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

Bloody hell, that is Stallone lookslike! So DNA do got sense of humour as with Minty on wall and this;

Goaty, glad you agree... I went looking for track-suit scenes with Stallone...the cigar is a pretty good indicator...but isn't that top familiar too?...I couldn't find it but I wondered if maybe somebody would remember seeing a Stallone flick with that track suit top?...perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

If the movie is any good, it won't matter. FX like that are only referred to as "gimmicky" if there is nothing else to the film. It's a visual style I suspect worksreally well in 3d.

My only fear is that it'll be like the latest Punisher. They nail the character and the environment, but the movie still falls flat. Then again, I trust we won't be seeing Dredd hanging upside down shooting from a chandelier in the intro...

I got goosebumps watching that!

..is it me or are the IMDB boards suspiciously quiet?

Yeah, to be honest that's my main concern with the film - and has been ever since the synopsis first got leaked -  something that bothers me a lot more than changing the uniform or setting.

I'm hoping that the slow motion sequences are somewhat original in their execution.

I think Urban's voice is spot-on.

I think the slow-motion is fine, but my one reservation is I'm really not sure about the Twilight sparkly pixie dust effect on the slow motion - I thought sunshine did trippiness more imaginitively.

Aren't they heightened light reflections of sweat and dust/glass particles -that's why they move- rather than some nebulous dream-stuff.

Yes very nice ten seconds, but they do leave me with one concern, and it is far greater than any damn nineties cars.

Is that a whashed out digital look I see?
The look used by Michael Mann in his last movies plus all independant movies made on so tihht budgets they can't afford real cameras? It is not, right? That's just an illusion created by that websites low resolution video, yes?

The actualy movie, filmed with super duper RED 3D cameras looks like a real film and not that washed out crap, right?

Right????

My understanding is that
it's an effect of the drug - it turns the user's surroundings into a beautiful landscape of iridescent, shimmering lights...
Just to remind you lot, they probably operate on US time, so it's likely to be Thursday EVENING UK time when they release it.
DNA office seem to think between 5 & 6 UK time, but they are guessing as its up to LIONSGATE, but a DNA guess is the best guess we have IMO.

Right????

Don't worry. I downloaded the HD, looks like compression artifacts. It's a $45M film, not a Syfy production. (*shudder*)
