Presumably - although attached to what I'm not sure, if they want to sell the 3D side, then Spiderman seems about the best fit as they've missed Prometheus, otherwise The Dark Knight Rises - but that's not 3D.

Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter`?

Steve Green

Maybe - sure we'll hear if there are any attached to that.

Best Lawsmaster artwork in Dredd comics always this by Greg Staples! What an action!

Beautiful play.

Diminished Responsibility

I'm betting that the DREDD trailer is going to run with Expendables II.

I wonder what the Stallone fanboys who have been cluttering up the forums will make of that?

I might go see Expendables just to revel in the moment :)

I look forward to expendables. Would be cool if they have another trailer out by then, preferably a red band. Assuming Expendables is a R they could show it with it. Now that would be awesome.

Sorry if this is sacreligeous but I really don't like the 'classic' Lawmaster from the comics. It's bulky, blocky and square looking. All angles and bits stuck on randomly. It's one of the things that stick out like a sore thumb as an anachronism in the modern Dredd strip.

Nah, you're right; Ezquerra, Dillon and Mike McMahon are the most prominent names on a very small list of artists who can make that incredibly tricksy design look good. I was looking forward to what both films could do to come up with an elegant design solution to this age old problem, but both of them have fudged it (in different ways). This film's bike does look fine in the trailer, though; and to see it moving at such very impressive speed- after Stallone's feeble mobility scooter- is a joy in itself.

This bike will do fine for me, for this particular film.
I have to agree...I was always in denial about the bike. Early in the progs there was a cracking sleek- looking machine posted, diagrammatic...LAWMASTER MK1 I think, after that it was a boxy tank. Horrible really. As Steve Green said, McMahon did it best, it had bounce, seemed light ...amazing really. But again bravo to Minty for bringing the box to life. I'm dimly aware of the Dillon bike, werewolf story, loved it. I really liked Dillon...went on to read Pressbutton by him...I'm sure his bike was great. It's true what someone said earlier...a pimped out Harley would have worked...still think T2 channelled Dredd...Terminator on a fatboy...hmm

Always preferred the 'Q' Bikes personally.

Steve Green

Yeah, I do like them as well - better having the machine guns slung low, and gets rid of the laser nipple.

Never liked the laser cannon on Dredd's bike, and never like it when the script refers to it as a laser cannon, as the artists always draw it as a machine gun. Conventional weapons just seem to suit Dredd a lot more.

Lawmasters have both machine guns - "bike-cannon" - and laser - "cyclops laser"? (the big reflective thing in the middle), no?

And I LOVE the old lawmaster design. Sure, it looks like a truck engine attached to two truck tires, but not everything in the future is gonna look slick and sleek. The Lawmaster is like "aerodynamics? WHO GIVES A DROKK?

The Lawmaster Mk II didn't have the laser, it had the cannons which the Mk I didn't.

Yeah but come on, the design and loadout of the bike has always been about as consistent as all other justice dept equipment.

Syne

Aw no - first the Mark I Lawgiver, and now the Cyclops Lazer?  :( :( :(

But actually, I like the fact that they phase out the designs, even though in most cases I prefer the more idiosyncratic earlier version. Because that the way the world works - "Lawmasters? - nowdays they all look like electric shavers."
