As an American I am curious:
Do UK fans expect more or less or the same with an American Dredd comic?
Is it bothersome that it will not, I assume, fit into continuity?

Speaking for myself, I will be happy if we see decent stories with great art first and foremost.

For me, this is different to my 2000AD Dredd so I'm not too bothered about continuity or whatever. All I hope is that the team do him justice, no pun intended. We've finally got a movie that was a pretty accurate representation, if we can get a US comic that lives up to the UK version I'll be thrilled.

Not too bothered about continuity, and not too sure what kind of quality to expect. I wasn't hugely thrilled with the preview pages, but that's not nearly enough to put me off the book or think it's going to be sub-par, but I hope it's good, so the larger audience isn't soured towards Dredd!

They say you need to spend money to make money, well I've never made any money so by that logic I've never spent any.

I want it to be fun and entertaining. I don't care if it's procedural like Wagner's Dredd or wacky like Pat Mills'
Dredd as long as it moves with pace and has some wit.

No continuity between universes I think is was what people said - which suits me down to the ground really.

No continuity doesnt bother me at all.
Art-wise i'd like to see some decent stuff from the non-2000ad artist's involved, but more than owt, i love it if the stories were as good as what we get from the prog.

How many varients will there be? I know of three for issue one; the Forbidden Planet in store edition, the regular edition, and the Badge cover edition. Any more I should know of?

There's FIVE VARIANT'S in total, for issue one.

Thanks- After I posted that, I found out about the retail logos editions. Eeep. Still, I'll try and get one of each cover *barring* the logo business.

As long as Dredd is somewhat similar to the modern Dredd (Wagner, Ewing, Urban) and the art isn't awful then I'm on board. Terrible Art or 'kiddie' Dredd (ya know, stupid impossible things happening in stories, or an awful 'voice' for Dredd) are about the only thing that would see me bow out.

Am looking forward to it. The LCS said orders for it had been very high.
If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

I guess this *could* be the Ezquerra cover, with a typo in the auction name? Unless there's an "Esquero" cover I'm not familiar with?

Also, I know of the DHC and FP custom covers- are there any more store specific ones?
