It should be a lot of fun, It's about time that Ireland had a con again.

COMMANDO FORCES

We will require photographic evidence that this con actually happened ;)

Then you shall have it Lord Forces!
Any Droids in particular tickle your digital imagery wishes?

I'll be there on Saturday!

Cool, that's at least 4 of us so Richmond.
Any particular secret gesture we purveyors of Thrills have to recognise each other?
Ehhh...maybe I'll buy one of those half price Nemesis T- shirts I've seen touted by Big Bang Comics.

Gavin_Leahy_Block

Generally we just ask, "are you from the forum?". If they look at you blankly, you just move on.
I'll have a Dredd t-shirt on and a few 2000ad badges on my jacket.

I'll see what I can do CF.

COMMANDO FORCES

Seeing as though the multi talented droid called Mike Carroll will be in attendance, I think pictures with him will suffice.
Also, can you ask him if that Judge Vaughan is really dead ;)

Had a brilliant time at DICE this weekend- was a genuine pleasure to meet PJ Holden, Mike Carroll, Rob Williams, Si Spurrier & Andy Diggle amongst several other 2000AD alumni.
Of the handful of Q&A sessions I attended, the one from the 2000AD panel this afternoon far eclipsed the others- a really relaxed and 'unforced' bit of banter with the masters of Thrill.

Also managed to obtain an unbelievably detailed Dredd sketch from the talented Gary Erskine- it took him 35 freakin minutes!

Took a few pics, but am unable to upload them (one pic is too big to attach?) due to technological incompetence I'm afraid...

COMMANDO FORCES

What!
If you join facebook and load your photos into that you just click on the 4th link of your picture that is available and copy/paste it onto here and it will be okay ;)

Id love to have gone, but alas the sheckles are saved for something else comic related...  I did ring on thursday to enquire whether MCCarthy would be there on Sunday, and I got, 'Yeah, I think he might be there' I wasnt going to drive 3+ hours on an 'I think' !!

I'd loved to have met up, there is one on in Galway in the new year, Galway is a good spot, and its near me!

Photos!!

Brendan McCarthy did indeed (unexpectedly) turn up, and took part in the aforementioned 2000AD panel.
I was gutted to be honest- I really didn't think he'd be there, and didn't bring anything of his to sign.

I'll NEVER join Facebook CF- it's just one of those things!

I've tried with the pics again on my archaic laptop- no joy. They only compress by a small amount, and I can't seem to edit them- aaaarrrghh!!!!
Any kind mod / tech savvy boarder out there have any pointers?
If not I guess I could email them to a -gulp- trustworthy fellow boarder to upload for me!

COMMANDO FORCES

Sorry, I meant photobucket, that's what you get for writing stuff down while watching TV.

I had a great time on Saturday and good to meet up with Richmond and Mike again. Didn't see the 2000ad panel as it was too difficult for me to get up there on Sunday too. Had a chat with PJ Holden, Rob Williams, Si Spurrier, Andy Diggle, Brendan McCarthy and Gary Erskine. No pictures, but I did get a few sketches which I'll put up later. Great event that will hopefully be on again next year.

Just read a very flattering write-up of DICE on Bleedingcool's news feed.
One thing they definitely got right was the informal nature of the whole thing- it was both bizarre and a real fanboy thrill to be able to just walk up to Kieron Gillen and shoot the breeze for 10 minutes.

Great to hear it's definitely on again next year- hopefully they'll still be able to retain the informal charm that gave last weekend it's unique flavour.

By the way CF- will download Photobucket and try again!

Just had a look at it there; shame I had to miss the Con, but I was dead chuffed to see that the two lads cosplaying as Bane and Batman (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/10/01/ultron-war-for-springsummer-2013-the-news-from-d-i-c-e/) are old friends of mine!

Apparently they showed up on Reddit too, the wee celebrities :P
