Phew, thought I'd missed it!  Can't wait to get my paws on this one, the annual Slaine and LoEG volumes are my sole GN purchases of recent years.

Mabs

I still haven't read Century or The Black Dossier yet, strange considering how much i loved the first two books. I think this might be the right time to order these.

Loved Heart of Ice and there's more League on the way:

"Straight from the lips of Alan Moore: the next League book is set in 1941 and called "The Roses of Berlin" Apparently he's 16 pages away from the end of scripting and Kevin O'Neill has completed 10 or so pages! After that one, there's another stand alone planned, then back to League Volume 4″.

I read Heart of Ice earlier today and I am still not sure if I liked it or not.

Whilst the news that lots more League stories are in the works is to be welcomed, I don't think this augurs well for anyone with hopes of a Mills/O'Neil reunion anytime soon....

A closer look at 'Moritz Rotwang's Berlin Metropolis', perhaps? And maybe more of that German 'League' mentioned in Black Dossier I'd imagine.

THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

Me neither. Although in my case I really liked the first but was put off a bit by the second. A bit too raunchy and downbeat for my taste. Not that I'm against a story going to a dark place, I guess it's just the way it's presented, and I found Volume 2 rather nasty. There was some great interesting stuff in there though.

I found myself struggling with the section at the back too. I never got through it before taking back to the library, so I wonder how I'd take to The Dossier? I do find the premise of these books very interesting though.

I think Nemo might be more up my street, although I never really took to the Lovecraftian stuff like many here seem to. (I've read some of his short stories and they didn't do much for me overall, although the ideas and imagery was interesting.)

I find pretty much everything is too unraunchy for my taste. Even Lost Girls.

The strip is not raunchy or downbeat, but it is mainly a reinterpretation of Mountains of Madness.

I really, really love Lovecraft and I'm not sure if that helped or hindered my appreciation for Heart of Ice. I enjoyed the Ian Culbard adaption of Mountains far more, although I genuinely have no idea which is the better graphic novel.

I have all the Centuries to date, and i have yet to adquire Black Dossier, and NEMO.

The weird thing is that it's not available at Amazon.co.uk. It says "available for pre-order". At least the Knockabout edition. While the other one, the Top Shelf edition, it's "temporally out of stock". Curiously, One of these editions is available at the Bookdepository. And the BD being an Amazon group store, i don't understand how the big one doesn't have it and the "small" one has it.

I have to wait a little more. Ina few days we gonna have the Saint Week holidays, wich basically is a religious festivity, with some of the days of the week as holidays, but as a whole, all "slows down". Ordering something from Abebooks or Bookdepository could be a pain in the a** for it to arrive. Last tie i've orderd something in those dates, it arrived after 23 days. I thought it was lost. :-\

So after all of this passes, i will take a look at NEMO.

Joe Soap, good news!. We can expect vol.4 sooner or later. :D
Ah, Henry Peter Gyrich -- I should'a guessed. Tell me -- do you National Security Council Guys get a cheaper rate buyin' those sunglasses in bulk?

I was pondering on whether to buy Culbard's version of ATMOM, but due to reading some poor adaptions in the past, i relented. But now i'm thinking i should order it, seeing as how much i love Culbard's artwork. Can you remember which version you read JMA? The SelfMadeHero publication or Sterling? I was just browsing on Amazon and both turned up. The Sterling publication is a little cheaper but then again, i really like SelfMadeHero's product quality.

By the way, i'm really enjoying Nemo, the opening is beautifully done (and as i stated in another thread) the cameo by Dogtanian made me have a right old chuckle! I love the quality of the book itself, hardback ofcourse and the artwork in the cover interior is superb, especially The Elder One at the other end.

You can still order it regardless of what it says. I also ordered from Amazon. I can see what you mean about the 'different versions', just make sure you get the cheaper one out of the two shown! I hate when sites do that, especially The Book Depository. You can so easily end up paying up to £4 more on the same product which is cheaper under another link at the SAME site. Very odd.

I've got the Self Made Hero version, but I have a Sterling edition of Princess of Mars sitting next to it and the print quality and presentation looks pretty much identical to me.

Thx for the tip.

I agree with the matter of different editions and prices. Some days ago i wanted "Battle Britton", the trade from Ellis. So i accessed the Bookdepository.com, and i saw two editions, one at almost 16 euro(more or less £14).. .but there was another "version", from Titan books, at 5,23 euros... that with a 10% voucher ended up in 4,79 euro(£4,09)... :o

The SAME book, same format, pagecount, authors... eaxctly the same. I don't understand. Seems to be that one is the british edition, and the other, the american one. :o

Well, i'll take a look and get the "cheaper" one soon.

Just read the annotations - good stuff, but they seem to occassionally miss stuff that doesnt need knowledge outside of the actual book to make sense of... case in point being tiger-lily/teke-li-li thing, which doesnt really need another reference (other than the rosebud/tigerlily connection via Kane)

Thanks for that mate. I will hopefully order a copy later this month. Oh, almost forgot, Princess of Mars you say? Now that does sound very intriguing!  :D
