You ever see Alice Donut do it live? The drummer played trombone so the singer played drums and hence it became in instrumental version.

Never managed to see them live no, would love to.

Sepultura's version of 'The Hunt' by New Model Army

Wow, now that I've got to hear!

Mudhoney's verison of 'Revolution' by Spacemen 3

I nearly listed that myself!

And seeing as Napalm mentioned Agoraphobic Nosebleed - Voivod's Forgotten in Space and Nuclear Assault's Hang the Pope.
NEGOTIATION'S OVER!

Pretty sure Alice Donut have been in active for some time, sadly. I saw them about 3 or 4 times in the 90's, singer and habit of getting naked on stage pretty much everytime.

Sepultura's version is something to behold, it really is good.

Hang the Pope, Nuclear Assault. Forgotten all about that.

Lawnmower Deth, one of the silliest bands ever :-)

Going to have to rummage through my record collection. Must be something by the Cramps, about half of everything they ever released was a cover.

Here's a few of my favorites.

Toy Dolls 'The Devil Went Down to Scunthorpe' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9qk7oefBBo

Rammstein 'Das Model' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFYltf-kw-A

Iron Horse 'The Unforgiven' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuQkzAg-WYU

The Damned 'The Citadel' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4OfBpJf0g4

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Time flies like an arrow, Fruit flies like a banana

I, Cosh

A few that I always like to throw into the mix when this comes up, although I've been beaten to the punch on Los Colorados and Nina Gordon.

A new one first. Not just a great cover, but probably my favourite record of the year so far. Neneh Cherry & The Thing - Dream Baby Dream

Schneider TM - There is a Light that Never Goes Out

St Etienne - I'm Too Sexy

Really crappy audio of a really great version. Drugstore - Black Star

Mudhoney's verison of 'Revolution' by Spacemen 3
Now that I've never heard but bloody well intend to!
It's a good 'un and no mistake. You may be familiar with Spacemen 3's reciprocal cover of When Tomorrow Hits, which always seemed slightly redundant as the original was written as a deliberate aping of the Spacemen 3 sound. Nice guitar sound though.

Impressed with the mention of Alice Donut too, though I prefer Helter Skelter, done the same way!
The only Alice Donut record I own is this sort of cover of My Boyfriend's Back. It's pretty silly but I like it.
We never really die.

O Lucky Stevie!

My favourite cover version is Boney M's rendition of 'No Woman, No Cry'.

Good man! & some mighty discerning picks from The Cosh.

Stevie's fave ever cover would be The Paradise Motel's apocalyptic version of T. Rex's Children of the Revolution.

Which, regretably, they only ever performed twice so there's no linky for you.  :(

So here's their version of The Cars song  Drive instead.

Oh, & Sebastain Canot's transforamtion of Dylan's url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo522Wb40bUl] [/url] can only be described as astonishing.
"We'll send all these nasty words to Aunt Jane. Don't you think that would be fun?"

O Lucky Stevie!

Ooops, that should be

Oh, & Sebatsian Cabot's transformation of Dylan's It ain't me babs can only be described as nothing short of astonishing.

That is the voice that everyone else hears when they read Buttonman's posts, right?

Just thought of another- The Breeders covering Sebadohs 'Freed Pig'. The song was written by Lou Barlow and is about his departure from Dinosaur Jr, so quite a clever cover by Kim Deal post Pixies.

My memory just shat this cover out-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSF0p5UEaKc

Bubonique's 'Play That Funky Music Irish Guy'. By no means the best cover/ parody on their seminal LP '20 Golden Showers' but mental nonetheless. It was comedian Sean Hughes/ Fatima Mansions and Microdisney collab. They had a 2nd LPout too the name of which escapes me but it wasnt as good as the first.

JayzusB.Christ

I heard a cover of Syd Barrett's 'Bike' in Forbidden Planet yesterday.  Anyone know who that was? Bit out of touch, me
"Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest"

Thats the one, cheers Joe. I have it in a box somewhere but always preffered 20 Golden Showers. The Nescafe/ Dildo adverts and Torso samples used to kill me.
