We bought those same ones after I broke a glass shade in our bedroom. I was turning the mattress on our bed and the bloody thing caught the light fitting. Crash. Bah. Anyway, those things are cheap but they're fine. I'm sure they'll do the trick for you, CL2K.

You know what would serve you well? Just be extra-nice to your mum for a while, and stop focusing on your collection so much. Get her some flowers or take her out to lunch to say sorry.
