His is GOLD I tell ya.

Over at The Beat they have a linkie to parts of a script Rob Liefeld has written for a movie about the rise of Image. Just read the 'Bye Bye Marvel' scene its hilarious. Its funny that it might even be true. I REALLY hope that's how it happened!

So we can put 'screen-writing' next to 'drawing' on the list of things Rob Liefeld doesn't know how to do...

Wow that's awesome, this is a comic book movie I would watch.
I don't know why all the hate for Liefeld, there's much worse artists working on mainstream comics today *cough* Steve Dillon *cough*.

You're directly out of your fucking mind.

Steve Dillon has forgotten more about anatomy than Rob Liefeld has ever known. See also: the ability to hit a deadline; construct a perspective; draw clothes; draw expressions other than 'straining against chronic constipation'; having any understanding of how 3D space works.

Steve Dillon is unbelievably good when it comes to depicting facial expression.
You may or may not like Preacher but the facial expressions and body language Steve draws inform the characters just as much as Ennis's script.

Ahahahahahahahaha! Good one!

On another note, that script must surely be a hoax?

Dandontdare

Steve Dillon's costumes don't have nearly enough pouches and ammo belts.  :D

More to the point, Dillon can actually draw clothes that look like clothes.

Liefeld just draws weird approximations hoodies that you can see the wearer's six-pack through, and spray-on trousers.

Charlie boy

But will Liefeld's script address the claims he used to take other people's artwork and essentially trace over it before claiming it as his own? Or his obsession with giving people late 90s era Michael Jackson-style noses? Or drawing characters that look like Cable over and over? The way men he illustrated could be clean shaven until action began, and then they had a couple of day's worth of stubble? I really do hope he provides us with these answers.

You can't beat a bit of Preacher, yet Dillon's recent work on Thunderbolts felt like it was from a completely different Steve Dillon, lack of perspective, complete lack of detail, simplistic figures whose faces all look like The Punisher (even Elektra) Liefeld's [slowly] improved over the years where as Dillon's seem to have done the opposite (IMO!  :D) and I'll be jumping back on for #7 when Phil Noto takes over.

Liefeld still can't draw feet though.

I do agree that Dillon seems to be drawing a lot of men with the same face these days but I still rate him as the better artist.
