We're currently taking action against several sites that upload torrents of each Prog, often before the issue has even been printed - and we'd like to ask for your help.

If you find links to a new Prog on a torrent site, could you please post a link in this thread so that we can keep track of where it is appearing and when?

Cheers

Might it not be as productive to find out where the leak in your production/repro/pre-press/press chain is, since that would seem to be the only source for page files to be escaping before print?

Which, without going into too much detail, is exactly what this is going to help us do.

Before print? Ugh. I'll keep an eye out. Good luck in general—when I wrote my last book, it was quite disheartening to find search results for it consisting of the publisher's page and then dozens of pages of torrent sites.

http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/446715789/2000ad?tab=summary <-- 1816 here. That's the newest I could find. Get the bastards!

Worth noting that link's actually broken (the Isohunt one, not CFM's) -- you can't download the listed torrent file.

Ah. But you CAN from here: http://fenopy.se/torrent/2000ad+1816+2013+digital+nahga+empire+cbr+nem+/OTUxNDk2Ng

on Isohunt under download .torrent there's "or download .torrent from other sources" and it lists it's other appearances there.

"2000AD 1817 (2013) (Digital) (Nahga-Empire)" appears to be the common title of the latest issue, and this was uploaded by 'STFmaryville'.

With that being a CBR, though, and uploaded today, I imagine it's just been ripped from a digital edition.

You're best looking the day you usually see the leaked material hit the web as individual comics torrents have a short life as torrented files usually come in a batch with the rest of the week's comics or themed "bundles".  Pretty much every single regular uploader has a handle, too (the links below are for a scanner called Nagha-Empire, for instance), so you'd want to identify your scanning group first, then work from there.  Most scanning sites do their best to keep below the radar by removing links to material if requested by the owners (which is why it's been a lot harder to find Marvel files online in the last few years), so a round robin cease and desist notice will go far as the groups and forums tend to be quite efficient at self-policing.

Also consider getting in touch with Comics Alliance, as they made a very big of cyber-tracking a leak in Marvel's distribution and then turning their findings over to the company.

It's not a torrent but I wandered onto this site whilst having a search for A.H.A.B. that appears to link to rapidshares of comics including 2000AD

Is it wise to create a one-stop thread shop for prog pirates?
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

Far easier way to Google for them, I very much doubt this will suddenly encourage a rash of pirates.
