COMMANDO FORCES

Are you gonna buy some for your collection?

gronk guy

Not in collection.
Great if you have a Kindle.

You don't have a kindle, what type of collector are you ;)

What, you haven't got them!

I best check the Cellar and reseal them and send them off before the upcoming event!

I've already got the physical editions of the case files (and the original progs, and the Titan reprints, and the Complete Judge Dredd issues, and many Eagle comics reprints) but I figured I have to have these... So I ordered the first one and it's not compatible with the Kindle readers on my tablet thingy or on my PC! Grr! How annoying!

What tablet do you have Mike?
The Kindle App should work fine on iOS or Android for comics.

I was really after getting these collections in physical form, using my tablet primarily for comics, but at that price.....*

I'm curious how comics fare in the Kindle app. I have a Nexus 7 and while you can zoom in using comics apps like Comixology and PDF reader, the kobo and kindle apps don't appear to have that facility (although their find for text obviously). The amount of times I've read a fantasy novel with maps etc, and I'm unable to zoom in!

Then again as these are comics specifically for the kindle app I guess they must take that into account.

*To be fair I'm running out of space in my room too which makes e-versions all the more attractive.

Premature worries - judging by the sample it works and zooms in just fine. Not as nice to use as proper comics apps like Comixology but you can read the panels just fine. At £1.89 a winning compromise.

Bat King

I got Origins works on my phone, but not well. Doesn't seem to know if it works on my PC. Works perfectly on my son's Asus pad (the one with snap on keyboard).

A-ha...! Yesterday, I updated the Kindle reader software on my tablet (a Lenovo IdeaTab something-or-other - it's a pretty nice machine, actually), and it still didn't work.

However, I tried again today and now it's working! Yay!

I picked up Case Files 5, Origins, America and The Pit for less than a tenner. All work fine on the Nexus 7 Kindle app with reasonable panel by panel zoom as well as the regular B/W Kindle. Great bargain!

Nice one!

Can anyone tell me how high the resolution on these Kindle editions look?

I've downloaded previews of the various 2000 AD Kindle trades, and have been very disappointed in their quality. Low resolutions, and clearly formatted for the Kindle Fire screen, but not the iPad (they have really wide margins, with the art presented a bit smaller then you'd expect).

Now. Its possible that because these are previews, they are inferior. But I sort of doubt it. I'd like confirmation, because these digital trades are kind of pricey to just purchase without being sure they are high quality.

If there is one criticism I can level at Rebellion for their digital support (which is quite above average compared to other publishers) its that their graphic resolution is just too low across the board. iPad app, digital shop, and I'm presuming Kindle books... Noticeable compression artifacts just sort or ruin the experience sometimes.

I found on the Kindle App on my iPad you have the big black borders as well (I bought Case Files 5). I think it was said here that they are designed to be most compatible with Kindles.
