Dredd Case Files Changing Covers?

Whilst on Amazon today, I noticed that Dredd Case Files 5 seemed to have changed its cover to this:

Then I did another search and ended up with my version of the cover:

So there are two different ones for sale - the "new" cover is listed as Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files #05 whereas the "old" cover is listed as Judge Dredd: Complete Case Files v. 5. It's not just Case Files 5, others are available in two different covers (and the prices are different too!)

I have a few Case Files missing from my collection because I borrowed them from my library, so my question is do I need to panic buy my missing Case Files now so all my covers are consistent (I'm a bit OCD like that) or are Amazon perhaps selling a UK and US version of the same book? Or what?

Thanks for any help  :)

I, Cosh

Think that first one is the cover of the US edition.
We never really die.

Tombo

Isn't the top one the American version?

Thank you both.

I should have asked this at the same time, but it only just occurred to me (old age! :)). When I was in Gosh Comics yesterday, I noticed the spines of the Case Files from 11 onwards had a Dredd Badge over the "Judge Dredd" title.

Is this the case for File 11 onwards, or again, are the spines being changed for the whole range and I need to find the "old" spines for my Files 1-10 collection?

Again, thanks for any help with this...

You really mean "anal, anal, anal", don't you! I even hate the fact they aren't all the same width. And yes, I have issues

Cheers all...

Looks like the cover design is being shaken up again with #21 (the covers run in cycles of 10 in case you hadn't noticed). The preview of the cover for #21 seems to indicate that they are inverting again, with colour at the top, black underneath as with #1-10 (perhaps the next 10 volumes will have full-bleed cover illustrations?) and there are other minor differences like dropping the dates and prog numbers and the lead colour (red for #1,11,21) being relegated to the title font, but then this might not be the final cover.

And yes, it is a bit sad to wonder about these things, but in my defence I appreciate a good bit of design and know a thing or two about it!

The American case files are distributed by Simon & Schuster. their cover price is $19.99. The Rogue Trooper books have the same style covers. American case files Vol #6 comes out in august.

I hope dropping the prog numbers/dates is only for the pre-release image.

Same here, hopefully it's been left off the promo art whilst the finalise the content. I like being able to see the progs/ megs and Dredds time line on the cover/ spines.

If only to see how far behind we all are to the current progs! Anyone else thinking they could speed up a bit and release more than 3 a year?

Personally, yes, but I totally get that it might not be practical or economical to do so. They can only publish a certain amount of books per year, and I would imagine that they don't want to oversaturate the market, and people would inevitably moan that they can't keep up buying that many per year.
