io9 ranks every Doctor Who story ever...

Interesting...

Seriously. No. Far too many shit New Who episodes in there. Waters of Mars? WATERS OF FUCKING MARS?! A story that set new standards for scientific illiteracy in a science fiction show? I had to stop at that point.

Just fucking no.

Bah.

Only bum notes for me were at the very end of the drama itself, with the pointless
'vision' of Matt Smith
(who I like, but not there), and the casting of Shearsmith as Troughton, which seemed more to do with his relationship with Gatiss than with any resemblance.

Point one, couldn't agree more, point 2, nail, head, hit.

But aye, feeling pretty fucking chuffed with that!  Although my Cyberman got more close up time than my Daleks!!  Well.....it is Gatiss' fave monster....so I guess it's fair enough!

Interesting...

I would have put City of Death at No.1 personally, and The Pirate Planet about 10 positions higher, but it's all relative, innit? ;)

I loved the whole of "Adventures In Time and Space".
Including the small
Matt Smith cameo
.
So shoot me.

It's a sad day when you have to admit that Waters of mars was the better of the four specials. The End of Time being the pits. It just call everything from The Stolen Earth up to the aforementioned departure as "Ten's parade of death". God, I try so hard to forget but I simply can not.

The End of Time is the single worst thing that has ever happened.

DINNNER TIME.

Now I have thunk on it, I found Matt Smith's appearance in lady's night show a bit jarring, and way too cheesy considering what had gone before.  Thankfully it didn't spoil it, but it did take me out of the moment briefly.

Will I get stoned for admitting that I enjoy The End of Time.

When the last series of DW was drawing to a close I started rewatching the new Who and when I got to the four specials (which I was not looking forward to) I was actually surprised by The End of Time.  It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I remembered.  It was pretty good.

I didn't actually finish rewatching all the episodes.  When I got to the last series some of the episodes were just too unbearable to watch, I gave up.

Damn Goaty, beat me to it by seconds!

I really enjoyed AiTS last night, didn't realise that was Brian Cox till the credits. Shearsmith looks nothing like Troughton, and the cameo at the end made me wince a bit, but overall it was excellent.

People smoked an awful lot in the 60s didn't they?
