Who'd like to see a real Judge Dredd toy line?

As a long time Dredd fan it kills me that there has not been a toyline dedicated to him and his universe. We've got upstart characters like 'Axe Cop' getting his own toyline, but DREDD who has had near 4 decades of history in comics has nothing. Sure we've got the fine prop replicas from Planet Replicas and we've had some sweet statues and models, and even 2 action figures of dredd himself (however they are out of print and expensive) but we haven't had a real series of highly detailed and super articulated figures of him and his friends and foes (the 'Mega-Heroes' series from Mattel doesn't count) Hell, we don't even have a deluxe figure of the recent movie version from Hot Toys or Sideshow collectibles and they'll release pretty much anything except Dredd apparently. So if you're like me and want Judge Dredd collectibles o n your shelf yet can't afford the high priced Statues Please like our Facbook page and spread the word that there is indeed a demand for Judge Dredd action figures. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Judge-Dredd-Figures-Now/141741822694080

Licensing of 'movie Dredd' merchandise is up to IMGlobal, I presume. 3A have a classic Judge Dredd figure on their schedule.

Judge Nutmeg

as you probably already know there is a funko Dredd out in January

Is the funko dredd the little metal guy I've seen pictures of?  I'd be super excited to see Dredd figures, or any 2000 AD figures for that matter.  I would pay way too much for a 3 3/4 Nemesis figure for example.  Package it with Grobbendonk and I'll offer up my liver.

Affordable 3D printers can't come soon enough for my tastes.

Maplins were advertising them for £699 the other day.

As to the original question: I couldn't really care less but if it would make you all happy then it's fine by me.
We never really die.

Another Facebook page that doesn't credit any bloody picture they put up. Who made them custom figures?

If Greg Staples had 5p for every time his pictures were shared uncredited I bet he'd have nearly four pound by now. That's enough for QUITE A LOT OF WHAM BARS.

If anyone has a 3d printer, I am really wanting miniature figures of dredd, Hershey, spikes Harvey rotten, tweak and judge Lopez. I want them in the same scale as my matchbox land raider.

I doubt it will ever happen, but we can dream, can't we?

Isn't it essentially a fan site?  Still wrong, or are you just upset about the lack of a credit?

Doesn't matter if it's the lamest fan site or the official 2000ad page, every picture should be credited. In the case of Make a Dredd Sequel which was one of the worst offenders they shared a lot of fan art without crediting it. It's only fair, you've essentially stolen their work to promote your page. Fair usage and the internet blah blah but it's manners at the very least.

I see your point, though I don't really have an issue with it personally, unless the site is trying to in any way profit from the image.

Back to the figures - I don't know how well the Re-action figures sold, but the second wave never happened.

There has to be a market - and if you're pitching to someone to tool up for an articulated figure (compared to simpler stuff like the static ones) the conversation could be -

"We want to do a Judge Dredd figure.

What, the Stallone film?

No the one that came out last year.

Oh, I didn't hear about that, did it do well at the box-office?

...it sold well on Blu-ray

Oh is there a sequel then?

..."

And then even if it did come out, some people would be bitching because they're too expensive, because they think Dredd can reach the economies of scale of Star Wars, and should be priced accordingly.

You an artist? You ever had one of your pictures show up randomly with no credit on the internet? It's the whole "oh who cares about the artist behind the picture because internet lol" culture that makes nearly every joe-ballbag think that all artists do work for free - and that maybe, because they haven't been able to find the artist, they can print it off and sell it (under new copyright laws that's pretty much legal now). I'm not saying if you see an image you want to share you track down the artist and send them money I'm just saying at least find out who bloody did it and credit them. With Google image search (for example) it would take seconds. That's all it takes, a thought and a second.

Also sorry Steve yes there's no mass market for very specific 2000ad action figures per se although 3a and specialist statue people must do alright off 'em. Also I think Dredd (2012) is a culty enough film to get a figure down the line, surely? Look at all the cult films from the eighties that have loads of action figures now.

A Judge Dredd toy line would be fine by me-don't care if it's comic Dredd or movie Dredd, just give me those lovely action figures please!   :)
