There could well be some interesting Judge Dredd action figure news in the new year as well as some exciting announcements about other merchandise, including a new line of 2000 AD statues.

Quote from Ashley Wood on his blog....

"I just love writing the name 2000AD, even though we have all trotted past said date, its still conjures up thoughts of the future, and thats why I'm writing this post today.

The future of 2000AD and 3A.

I could yap on about the details about the previous years attempts at making the toys ( best moment for me was Ro -Jaws ), but in short in 2014 we are going to relaunch the 2000AD line in 1/12th, I want to make many characters, and frankly the cost and support for large expensive versions just didn't add up, plus we all want a law-master with our Dredd figure ( much much easier and cheaper in 1/12th), hell, we all want an Apocalypse War era Sov Judge, Judge Anderson, Judge Death, Johnny Alpha with Gronk, Nemesis, fuck, even that todger Ace Garp, plus all the modern era characters... There are a shit load of them, I personally love them all, even Shako..

You guys who have the 1/12th Mongrol have already started your collections, so help me, help 3A get these done by supporting the new line, without you guys it's not gonna happen! 2000AD deserves a great toy line, fuck that, IT DEMANDS IT!"

What do you all reckon?  Sounds pretty good to me...

There are a couple of 3A threads, where we've talked about the previous figures.

I would definitely be up for a reduced size Mongrol!

Didn't they already release one - or am I misremembering?

Never bought the 2000ad stuff, they released. Though they was stunning. I like the idea of a smaller sized line of merch being released. That Sov Judge sounds rather grand.

3A's stuff isn't that expensive, is it??

Cheers!

As a proud owner of both 1/6 and 1/12 scale Mongrols, I can say that the quality of the smaller figure is really, really good - in a lot of ways I prefer it to the larger version...  Definitely cheaper too! US$55 for 1/12 vs US$250 for 1/6!

Don't you folk like toys other than Action Figures...

Here's me wanting 2000AD Lego (Or Character Builder, I'm easy) and you lot ramble on about Action Figures.

I'll take a Mega City One Monopoly while I'm at it.

Apocalypse War Risk? Rogue Trooper Risk...

2000AD Trivial Pursuit? (OK I might not actually buy that one)

Hungry Fatties!!! That's a great one for the Spugs in the family.

Sounds good Bat. How about 'ABC Raving Bonkers' or 'Kerplunk The Sump'. Or perhaps 'Psi Twister' or 'Subbuteo Harlem Heroes' lol.

I prefer my more anatomically correct figures to the more cutesy stuff like Lego and I've been waiting for a proper action figure line ever since the sadly short lived Re-Action figure line, and how long ago was that? 15 years? Still there's always room for other mercy, Lego included.   ;)

I'd pass on Monopoly but Trivial Pursuit I'd snap up in seconds, shame that will never happen. Surely Risk should be Dante?

Oh my god, what a great idea!!!  Block Wars Risk would also be bloody amazing.  I freakin love Risk!  I used to have 12 player Risk battles with my pals back in the day.  I am bloody good at it too.  One guy got so pissed off he flipped the board and all the pieces up into the air when I gave him a good trouncing.  That made me cackle maniacally all the more.

Yeah, my girls would definitely enjoy that, but not sure how it would fare given the PCishness about obese people these days.  The Daily Mail would have a field day. I can see the headlines now - 'Shopkeepers crushed in Hungry Fatties protests!'  ::) ;)  'Won't Someone Think of the Large Children?'  etc etc
