THIRD PLACE - JIM CAMPBELL'S RED PLAINS DRIFTER

SECOND PLACE - BLACKMOCCO'S GOLGOTHA

FIRST PLACE - ARCHIE'S YOUNG ASHTAR

Probably the most intense month all year and although the voting was absurdly close Archie had it from the start - ! Remember you can find out about those behind the pictures and more on our facebook page --> https://www.facebook.com/2000adartcomp

THARG'S CHOICE goes to Hoagy's Necromancer and Toad. Outrageously cute!

So, that's it! Thanks everyone for submitting and making 2013 an amazing year for the art comp! Look for us again in January 2014 and for all your creative forum needs this December the ADVENT CALENDAR is the place to be!

Oh.... now wait a second there was something else wasn't there? Yes yes, that's right.

BRIAN BOLLAND'S DROID'S CHOICE

Quote1 Allistermac - Otto Sump. That's Otto Sump alright!

2 blackmocco - Golgotha. Nice simple lines. Well drawn. Strong idea.

3 Archie - Young Ashtar. Great textures.

I love Bolt-01 - Kid-Knee P.I. It reminded me of Bob Burden's Flaming Carrot Comics.

Brendan Purchase - Deputy Chief Judge Fish. Great loose drawing style. I'd like to see Judge Fish.

Well done everyone, congrats to the winners, thanks to CFM.

Must say, I've really enjoyed seeing the variety of work on show. Tons of amazing stuff.

Fungus

Great competition :)
Well done Archie (plus runners up) -- and CFM.

Pleased to see a black & white winner...

Well the comp has ended the year on a high and that's down to two things. All the good, good people who've entered throughout the year and here of cause I'll make special mention of Archie, Allister Mac (how proud must you be top be picked by Mr Bolland!) and all the good folk who placed this time AND the simply devine Mr Crazyfoxmachine.

Owen you fixed (as in made better I make no accusations of voting rigging!) the Comp and that sir is a thing to be very proud of and us all to be grateful for.

Congrats to the winners, great ideas/work all round. A good enough selection to fill a prog with one off spin off stories, which would be awesome.

allistermac

Wow, what can I say. Humbled and honoured to have my favourite artist pick my drawing. Congratulations to the other entrants that made the top 3 and Tharg's choice. It was a particularly strong month with plenty of potential winners. Thanks for organising another great competition Owen looking forward to participating again next year.

Thanks for all the votes, I'm humbled by them and being mentioned by Mr Bolland. Well done to everyone for all the entries this year and big thanks are heaped onto Owen for all his efforts and finally 2000AD for all the inspiration.

Jim_Campbell

What do you mean I didn't win everything? HOW COULD I NOT WIN EVERYTHING?!

NO ONE TOLD ME I WOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO WIN EVERYTHING! NOTE MY USE OF CAPITAL LETTERS TO INDICATE HOW SERIOUSLY I'M TAKING THIS!

IT'S A BLOODY FIX!

BAH!

I am blummin still marveling at my entry's outcome! There are so many other formidable entries that could be in it's place. The standard of ideas and executions this month have SET the standard.

Staggered and thanks. Thank you for those who voted for and mentioned me also. It does mean a great deal.

(Edited to add: It does feel very good to be up there among the top contenders. Archie = Brilliant. The Archie-Deviant! )

Brian Bolland judged the art comp.  I'll just say that again.  Brian Bolland judged the art comp.

That's partly because of the hard work of CFM and his illustrious predecessors in making the competition happen month after month, and partly because of the consistently fantastic quality of the entries.  No matter where you came in the final tally, that's success for all of you right there.

Also, please note that the Top 3 spots, and two of Bolland's choices, are Pat Mills co-creations. Respect the gaffer.
