help finding a series from 1999/2000

Hi Hi,

I need some expert vintage 2000ad knowledge to help me find a story that the mag run back in 1999/2000. It ran around the same time that Mazeworld was featured and was set in a dystopian future American city and centred around a group of cops/employees of a powerful overlord. Its pretty vague i know but I cant remember the name of the story and im desperate to get hold of it some how. I went to the archive on the 2000ad website but they stop in mid 2000, which is just a bit too recent. Any one have any ideas?

That's a whole can of worms.

It wasn't reprinted in the Sinister Dexter trade collections for some inexplicable reason as its central to the ongoing story. I believe however it was reprinted in the mini-trade in the Megazine and a quick check on Barney confirms issue 330 and 334.

There was a third floppy in Meg 335 as well.


But are we sure it is Downlode tales? I don't think the description really fits. For one thing Downlode is in central Europe not America.

Sright. Sadly Mega Barney is the poor relation of his Prog based clone brother when it comes to recent updates.

Downlode Tales certainly fits the general synopsis and I can't think of anything else that fits the bill.

Have just been reading progs from that time its not Red Fang I know it was not set in the on earth but could fit the bill?

Could the story be Bison?

That may have been early 2000s rather than late 90s, but it was about a cop going undercover to infiltrate an evil gangster.

But it does sound more like Downlode Tales with the Whack Pack vs the Azz-Kickers. I'd certainly recommend that over re-reading Bison anyway...
